AAAA we did it!! I'm SO excited to showcase Yakuza 5 with @panduhmonium.bsky.social @froob.bsky.social @tapioca.moe and @bignono.bsky.social!
Y5 is THE game that started my special interest in the whole series. Between that and the fact that DREAMS are a huge part of Y5, it's so full circle lol

I am the exact same height as Haruka (Y5 of course lmao) - am I just short or is she just incredibly tall for a 16 year old?

no surprise here but i think y3 kiryu would have the softest belly 🥰 he’s solidly built but his midsection is just so cute and squishy. meanwhile you could slap y5 kiryu’s sexy pathetic beer belly and it would echo for miles

so hot to imagine fat y5 kiryu whoring himself out to make ends meet. he starts out kinda self-conscious, having always taken pride in his chiseled physique and the way it could please people, but he quickly learns there’s a certain clientele who REALLY seem to enjoy his bigger body ❤️

When I was really young, a friends older brother told me that the fairy made Link “turn into a gay wad” because of the hearts. I’d never heard of a gay wad before. I was told that when you’re gay more than three times, it makes you a gay wad. Then he healed Link up and said, “guess he’s gay now”

Start of Year 4. One session, reading aloud. Yr3 teacher had thought I was “backwards”.
I read the first paragraph of all the books for my year group without issue.
Then the same for the y5 books.
Then y6.
SURPRISE! AUTISM!

please delight me with your most on-brand story from your childhood
mine is that I quit Cubs after two weeks because it clashed with Coronation Street

My Y5/6 teacher once gave me back my homework unmarked and - like the honest child I was - I went to her desk and told her she’d forgotten to mark it.
She had a massive go, told me I was lying, that I hadn’t handed it in, and sent me to the back of the queue until “I was ready to tell the truth.”

Now I want to know your childhood villain origin story. What radicalised you as a child? What filled you with a rage that lasted a lifetime?

I've been trying to beat Y5 since at least the PC port came out.
I'm still trudging through Haruka's story....
one day I'll beat it and move onto 6...or go play one of the spin offs.

Our Y5/6 Reading Buddies now have a selection of empathy questions to share with their partners. We talked through a few of them this afternoon before they chose their books for the week. Feel free to download and adapt: padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/r...

Finally got to Act 4 after like, a year. And I'm really over it.
Y4 and Y5 are such slogs. Y3 might have the worse combat, but I'd take the Morning Glory, Military Base, Resort, Majima, all that plot over Y4 and Y5s exhausting "ten villains that you know all don't matter at all" story.
