$21/yr is cheap as far as subscriptions go but I’m keeping my money away from the nimb yeerk times

Also something they established in this first book are humans who are Yeerk sympathizers in exchange for "preferential treatment".

So this is clearly a yeerk ploy right

Maybe too much of a US 90's kid thing but the Yeerk Blade Ship from Animorphs?

Or the Ori warships or Replicator cruisers from Stargate?

i mean....if you aren't a yeerk you have nothing to worry about.
October 23, 2026 at 3:21 PM
yeah I think if there's one of the books that stuck with me the most, it's #6 just because of how vivid all the description is when that Yeerk is in its death throes from starvation and hallucinating, and Jake is having a hard time keeping track of which memories are his, and which are the Yeerk's

do you disavow the Yeerk invasion
do you condemn the boxcar children
do you disavow the babysitter's club
October 19, 2026 at 12:24 PM
A half death where you somehow retain memories and awareness but have no control? Basically being subject to being taken over by a yeerk but no hope for restoration. Terrifying.

Visser Three: Charlie Yeerk was a good one... the animorphs... they are cringe...

I forgot to post this thrift treasure when I found it earlier this week:

is this a safe space for me to talk about my yeerk kink
October 11, 2026 at 5:47 AM
A brief look at what those yeerk bastards are in for.
October 11, 2026 at 4:10 PM
Started my Animorphs ttrpg campaign with my partner, Trapped Within! Petri, a Yeerk engineer with a robot body, had their greatest invention stolen from them by a syndicate of mad scientists, and got stranded on Earth in the process.

I love my yeerk girlfriend <3
Heard an interesting rumor!

If life is giving you trouble, try letting an adorable little slug crawl into your ear and solve all of your problems ~

Ruby's got a Yeerk in her head
September 29, 2026 at 3:07 AM
What is a yeerk if not a trill with no rizz. Just a big loser worm.
September 28, 2026 at 11:31 AM
It was also the first book series I read as a kid that absolutely outlined permanentconsequences, in a way I IMMEDIATELY understood. Main characters lose limbs, suffer severe psychological breakdowns, get tortured, and are forced to kill human hosts controlled by the slug-like Yeerk parasites.
September 28, 2026 at 4:44 PM
i think yeerks are definitely cooler than cerebroslugs tho because there's bunches of cool yeerks who aren't dillweeds and only one (1) good cerebroslug, skip, so the math works out to be

trill > yeerk > cerebroslug

future morphing yeerk society. (hoping to give people a fright at some point with the slugs, since several of them read animorphs.)
September 27, 2026 at 5:51 PM
I was never pro-Yeerk genocide, but I never finished the series, and I'm also in the camp of never having asked about the obvious solution, because I too never thought of it.

So this is kinda blowing my mind lmao
NEW VIDEO:

why does no one ever ask the most obvious question in the world about the Animorphs story?

and why does that lead to 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 defending genocide in my comments???

let's find out together!

There was a solution to the war with the #Yeerk empire in #Animorphs that was obvious from the first few chapters of #book 1, but almost nobody talks about it. Even though it's how the series ended.

Oh my god. I either didn't make it far enough in the series to know (or more likely, read it so long ago that I forgot) that the Yeerk Empire was not even all that popular of a movement. Of course giving the Yeerks the option to be something else would totally defeat the Empire's only selling point.
September 27, 2026 at 3:19 AM
This is hidden in part by introducing Visser 3 up front, showing us a Yeerk who is a real asshole and who has an Adelite host, so it's easy to only think of it in terms of how surely all the Yeerks would be the same.

But being senseless slugs sucks so much, ANY animal, even if stuck, is better
