One of my favorite passenger car designs of all time: the SP/ V&T/ YVRR 40' RPO. So good.
yeah! With my layout set in 1941, I get to have like experimental diesel switchers and nothing else. Plus I get to drop in some old rolling stock from time to time.

Rescue YVRR 26 from Mexico, grab the RPO and YV330, and run summer Sunday specials in-between regular service with the steam consist.

The YVRR should be added to the California State rail plan & rebuilt ASAP. A new alignment to deal with shifts and encroachment of the original ROW would be needed.
Then after it's complete, running with new swiss style equipment, (electric, large windows) automobiles are fully banned.

Reminder that until 1945 you could take a train to Yosemite!
From sleepy Merced, the Yosemite Valley RR swept passengers on a winding route through the scenic foothills, delivering tourists straight to El Portal!
No doubt, such a train would be well used, given Yosemite's typical grueling traffic.

(Before you get too excited it's not going to be a YVRR engine, just a spare tender)

Doesn't need to be, the entire route was well built to standard gauge! Plus, the joy of seeing the real, surviving standard gauge YVRR equipment on the line would be worth it.

Well, the Ferguson slide detour goes along the old river canyon Yosemite Valley Railroad grade. But tunnels would be so awesome as well as a huge train system.

Nearly 20 years on, my version of the "Yosemite Valley Railroad" (YVRR). This would have been a fun project to have completed, however, all models and data were lost due to a hard drive failure.

I know most don't click on external links... was just trying to see the difference between wide dynamic range and not. I honestly think not having wdr on give a much clearer view not having graininess in the darks. Its blown out a bit but tons of salt on the road
