This #ZeroHIVStigmaDay, I wanted to flag an issue a lot of folks with HIV struggle with: housing. Earlier this month, I worked on a piece that outlines why older adults with HIV —especially long term survivors— find it harder to stay housed. That can lead to their untimely deaths. 🧵 (1/6)
Older Adults with HIV Face Barriers to Staying Housed
As the city’s population of people with HIV ages, more investment is needed to help them remain stably housed, survivors and experts say.

Today is #ZeroHIVStigmaDay, a date selected in honor of HIV activist Prudence Nobantu Mabele.

HIV stigma shapes whether we feel safe getting tested, starting treatment or simply being ourselves. Prudence led efforts to end the stigma of HIV and motivate people to get tested, treated, and active.
