As one of the MANY women who visited Collins' Maine offices & begged her not to confirm Kavanaugh, I'm so grateful Troy Jackson is pushing her on this.
"What will it take for you to admit you are ever wrong?" -- Troy Jackson nails Susan Collins on her vote to confirm Kavanaugh, 8 years to the day after Collins cast the vote that doomed Roe v Wade

Monopoly utilities successfully lobbying politicians to weaken or remove the electricity transmission provisions from the draft energy permitting bill would be a big deal. The transmission bits are among the best parts of the bill for people who want more clean electricity built and used.
EPI's David Pomerantz expects Duke Energy, Southern Co. and electric utility trade group EEI to "heavily lobby ... to at minimum weaken, or even remove" the transmission reforms in the Senate's bipartisan permitting bill, per Latitude Media. 🧵

One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”
"By using AI, tasks like essays that used to take hours can be completed in minutes!"

Sure, like how if I arrive at the gym and immediately go for a shower, my workout is done in record time. And if I throw my sandwiches straight in the bin, I can finish my lunch in under 10 seconds.

The criminal penalties for SA should be life in prison & financial RESTITUTION to the victims.

Differences in housing policy post-Surge couldn't be more stark. Both councils passed a temporary 60-day notice requirement for nonpayment evictions.

Minneapolis: the mayor vetoed and council centrists refused to override. On pace for record evictions.

St. Paul passed it veto-proof. Down 15% YOY
September eviction numbers from @homelinemn.org:

Minneapolis remains on pace for its highest number of evictions in decades, tracking 4.8% ahead of 2025 which was already a high-water mark.

St. Paul is on pace for a 15% *reduction* in eviction filings year-over-year

Together, these schools educated 7,923 children and took in roughly $87 million from the voucher program.

When I went to college it was considered critically important for blogs to be integrated into every curriculum, because blogs were the future. We had to maintain a separate blog for every class.

I guarantee you that not a single student ever looked at a single one of those blogs ever again
Its been bananas watching schools go from “tech changes so fast we’re focusing on the theory and fundamentals and you can learn specific languages/tech on your own” to “we need to offer a bachelors and masters in a thing thats existed for 6 months” what are we doing here

It's a huge improvement over the last version. But does it fall short of the clear public desire to make biking, walking, and rolling safer in Minnesota?
