It seems to me that a solution to encouraging AI 'alignment' would be to hold AI companies and their executives legally liable - criminally, if relevant - for what their AI agents do.

Did you know your kid can be blind or have brain damage due to measles at birth? If Rubella pops off, then we can add deafness and severe birth defects to the list.
Vaccinating your kids is so, so much less dangerous that the damage these diseases can cause, esp to infants sharing their air.

America had wiped out measles. Now babies are infected at birth.
Congenital measles has rarely been seen in the U.S. That’s changing as vaccination declines and more pregnant women become infected.

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.
