Congresswoman Stevens shouldn’t even get to say the word “transparency.” She is transparently bought by AIPAC and the corporations making your life harder.

Remember how Democrats were pushing Newsom no matter who?
California Gov. Gavin Newsom is reportedly scrambling to kill a ballot measure that would impose a one-time 5% tax on roughly 200 billionaires — raising an estimated $100 billion for Medicaid and social programs.

Cosmic horror is great because it just kinda invents itself. Spend a bit too long thinking about the sun and you realize it’s a radioactive death ball larger than your mind has capacity to comprehend, so inherently dangerous that looking directly at it will harm you, and it’s just sitting there.

As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.

At least you have a chance when your left of center party is willing to fight for your rights.

When they come back into power.

But when both parties abandon you, you’ve lost for a generation.

When I say I will never vote for Gavin Newsom.

When I say I’d take another Republican congress over Democrats that abandon trans people.

This is why.

When your largest left of center party goes the way of Labour in the UK, you’ve lost all hope.

I will never do it.

People write often about how companies like Intuit lobby Congress bc their business model relies on the tax system being artificially bad.

I feel like the less obvious problem is that the system being so painful and annoying is also stealth propaganda for the anti-tax, anti-social programs side

one reason people are so resistant and angry to taxes here is that they often DO feel like a punishment. because you have to go through this whole stressful process to find out what you owe etc.

every bit of friction added to the process makes people angrier and less willing to find the government

one thing that pisses me off most about the 21st century is that, especially now, is that the system could easily be set up to where most of us just have all the taxes we owe taken out automatically, and everyone else just gets a letter telling them what they owe.

this matters more than you'd think

The US was literally founded on rich people not wanting to pay their taxes or for labor, no matter how much suffering that caused, yet wanting to call the shots. 250 years later and not much has changed.
Jeff Bezos is simultaneously hoping to decrease his own tax burden while making it easier for himself to pay less for his low-wage labor, this is so obvious that I can’t help but think you are a giant fool if you fall for it leftistly

Rasheed is literally risking his life for this game. Israelis could decide to capture, torture, or murder him at any point for daring to share the truth of the Nakba or Palestinian culture.

He truly believes in games and their power to tell these stories.

Please help his courage not be in vain.
I’m NOT excited and I’m NOT thrilled. I’m honestly scared to share this, but I’m not a coward. I have to show you what you helped us create.

None of this would have been possible without your help, and we can’t finish it without your support
