This is a seriously dangerous ritual that I can't recommend highly enough. If you like warm cookies and hot beverages, freeze yourself pre-portioned dough.
Then at least once a day you pop on the oven (a toaster oven is brilliant) and pop the frozen balls in and get your bev going.

Came here to say this. I keep a few dozen cookies of my favorite three or four types in constant rotation in the freezer.
Fresh cookies in about the same time as my tea or coffee take to get ready.

I'm not joking, on a bus, travelling from town to town, mobile in WiFi scan mode and you do get passed a lot of people's networks that are open. Which means, logging onto said network and then oooh, device access time.

This one is my favorite for several reasons:
* Not technically impossible. Expensive, sure, but it's definitely possible to have a script that detects images that are seemingly screenshots of posts and takes action on those.
but more importantly…

The message is clear: trans folk are not a protected category on this site. But we already knew that from having been on this site.
Are they threatening trans users directly? No. Trans folks in the US have been targeted repeatedly. That's awful and you have my sympathy.
Within the context of a single post we wouldn't consider it a direct threat or targeting a protected category. Ie send trans folks to concentration camps.

I'm usually a huge sceptic of generational stuff.
But I've been on the Web long enough to see the same problems be “solved” over and over in cycles that make me think more age diversity in the planning/decision process may be warranted.

Of course we all know that it actually is a direct threat.

Of course we all know that it actually is a direct threat.
As someone who is mostly a pedestrian and never a cyclist, I have no idea what Jill is talking about here. I love cyclists. My experience with cyclists is that they're super polite and make things safer for us peds. The motorcyclists (gas or electric) are a mixed bag, and cars are net bad.

It's not to say The Kids *can't* read him and enjoy him, particularly Hitchhiker's; many could and might. Also, in the four-plus decades since his work has come out, times change, people change, circumstances change, and every generation looks for their own bits of culture to call their own.

Newbie quilter here. I've been using the warm & natural batting recommended by my local quilt shop.
But my quilts seem very thin and not very warm. Do I double up the batting? Use polyester? Some secret third thing? Or are quilts just not that warm or fluffy?

i dont know how to get this through to the true believers but i simply do not want to ask a machine to do my work for me. i dont want it to communicate with other people for me. i dont want it to plan my vacations or make my agendas or anything because all of that IS my life

It seems like the same folks who are very much against ultra processed foods are often neutral or positive on ultra processed data†.
And yet it seems to me that the dangers of both are the same: they can easily lead to overindulgence in an unbalanced diet contributing to disease.
