If Polanski looses the Holborn by-election and the public hears about the Zionism is Racism vote, the more the Greens are going to start to implode. Especially if the Lib Dems can convince their more nimby members to join them. It’ll be Your Party redux.
Labour is polling at its highest rate since January 2025, according to a new YouGov voting intention poll for Sky News and The Times

Working on a piece for Defector about Warhammer 40k, something I've wanted to write for about five years, and my research revealed that Games Workshop contributes more to the UK's total economic output than the entire fishing industry.

Gotta say until you read the actual motion it's not clear just how rabid the Greens' positioning is. The motion calls for the end of the State of Israel.

Not sure what’s going on with GW and the recently announced Necromunda RPG, which seems to have vanished from all of their online platforms. Last time that happened was with Warhammer Quest: Cursed City, where they went full Room 101 on it.

A recurring controversy in left-wing spaces is "Was Person X being antisemitic or does he just call everyone he's arguing with a 'filthy lapdog of the globo-capitalist elites who should be liquidated along with his spawn'?" and I'm kind of tired of it, to be entirely honest.

What does it mean to be a member-led party when the Greens have 230,000 members but only 1835 voted on the Zionism Is Racism motion? Doesn't seem like you can claim the result as the iron-clad democratic will of the membership while dismissing the concerns of actual democratically elected MPs

Now’s a good a time as any to deep dive on what is Zionism, rather assume you understand it.

There’s going to be a butt-tonne of pontificating about it in the next few days, much of it it from people who are either bias, or ignorent.

Let’s try not to be either…

This is just indefensible. I think Greens will discover as much soon, question is how quickly they can retreat, and how much damage will be done by the time they do.
I still haven't seen a single person be able to defend or explain why you'd vote against this amendment or why it was unacceptable.

It's the smoking gun as to exactly what the Zionism is Racism motion aims to achieve.

Amendment 3 sought to include that the motion should not be used to “pressure, proscribe or discipline members based on affiliation with Jewish community institutions” - which had the support of party leader Zack Polanski.

This amednment was voted down:
684 votes in favour
1026 votes against

The "zionism is racism" motion that has just passed on the Green Party's conference floor is truly gross, and deeply racist.

The party's MPs deserve some credit for opposing it, though they should've done so more stridently and sooner.

This is now a millstone around the party's necks. Deservedly.

Pretty dark day for the party when the motion looks set to pass despite opposition from MPs and former leaders practically begging not to do this. Crank takeover is complete and the party is lost for now.

Green Party conference just voted in favour of this motion, and this time, in the hall itself, specifically voted against an amendment which would have removed the element about “Zionist Synagogues”.

As a result, for most Jews the Green Party will now be considered to have a policy of antisemitism.
Although it feels like I am shouting into the void about this sometimes, I want to share some further thoughts on the “Zionism is Racism” motion which the Green Party is due to debate in the next 16 hours.

Just to address various points which I think people in general should know.

Just so dispiriting to watch the Greens be corrupted by the same poison that took over Labour. All the same shit: the excuses, the mealy-mouthed justifications, the tortured position statements, the deafening silences.
Like a historical reenactment.

Jesus fucking Christ. Every time I expect ministers to have a modicum of intellect and be reasonably well versed in critical thinking, we get this. These cock-wombles need to be strapped in a chair and fed a course on critical thinking and scepticism like that cinema scene from A Clockwork Orange.
I hosted an in-conversation with AI minister Kanishka Narayan at Labour conference

We covered a lot of ground...

He said there was too much AI “doomerism” in Westminster

And revealed he has used synthetic AI focus groups to gauge public opinion on a range of topics

The "Zionism is racism" motion, to be debated at the Green Party conference tomorrow, will not advance the Palestinian cause one inch. But, if adopted, it would marginalise and discredit the party. There are powerful ways to confront the genocide. Toxic gesture politics isn't one of them.
