if you can’t replace your stove, you can get a great little induction hot plate for about $100
mine handles all my pasta, soup, anything that needs boiling or simmering. boils faster than gas, holds a perfect simmer

i am very certain that ditching gas is why my oldest didn't develop asthma after being pretty clearly pre-asthmatic
Insane new research. Scientists gave asthma patients free electric stoves to replace their gas stoves, then checked to see if symptoms improved.
Not only did symptoms improve, ditching gas was *better than medicine.*

We know how to phase down fossil fuels, but the government, and to a lesser extent the people, don’t want to do that at the pace the situation warrants.
It used to be that the climate deniers always wanted to find the guy that started the fires. I haven’t heard that this time. Is that trend over?

I've seen enough! In City Hall, I'm working on transit improvements and decarbonization buildings right now. We know that gas in buildings and oil from cars and trucks are the two biggest sources of carbon pollution. Transit and electrification of buildings are our way out.

I was pleasantly surprised the other day when a contractor friend in a red county said that heat pumps are now simply the industry standard.
Apparently they’ve outsold gas furnaces in the US for the past four years and are poised to overtake conventional AC. That’s really good news.

I think I might have inspired this bill. About five years ago PG&E wanted to replace the gas line to my house, and I said why don't you give me that money instead, and I'll go all electric? To my shock they said okay, how about $20k? ...
