There is no place in Canada for this. I’ve lived in Canada for decades and have never encountered anyone who holds this level of bigotry. It’s not who we are. I see #SecondSonsCanada as an aberration. Steroid-fuelled racist idiots is more like it.

#SecondSonsCanada isn’t just a fringe operation. Why? Because right wing political parties in 🇨🇦 have created a permission structure for a lot of the same ideology within their membership & to attract members. From the #UCP to #CPC, there are elements of this extremism as well as pandering to it.

Put another way, Ford wants to spend more on removing bike lanes in Toronto ($48M) than he's spent protecting all of Ontario's businesses from an international trade war.

Ontario deserves serious leadership, that follows through on promises, and actually puts people before profits.

PM Carney calls out Canadian based Stelco steel company (owned by US company Cleveland Cliffs) for the layoffs due to Trumps tariffs, betraying Canadian workers. They were offered $$ by the Fed govt in Canada to keep it open and refused.

Another tidbit of info, we know that this is a US based company in Canada and Trump was basically applauding the failure of this company thinking it was Canadian, due to the tariffs, he is a fucking idiot.
CBC leaves out important context:

Stelco is owned by U.S.-based Cleveland-Cliffs.

An American parent is restructuring its Canadian operations while citing American tariffs.

The Canadian job losses are real. So is that context.

I would like to see much more controversial legislation go through but with a mandatory sunset clause eg we are in a difficult time so we need this to go through but it dies at end of this government unless next government votes to retain it for another term.

This is pure comms manipulation.

There's a reason previous Liberal governments looked at privatizing airports and didn't go through with it.

Private investors don't want a stake in our public assets to make them better. They’re in it to make as much money as possible for themselves - while workers and passengers pay the price.

These airport questions, wow. Talk about framing them to get the answers those seeking privatization want.

These questions lead with "pension fund" bc we view them more benevolently that we would 'a large corporation' or 'private equity'. Tell us what the 'other investor' might be. Use the words.
Regarding Airports - "It's likely that the infrastructure would be operated more efficiently if done by a pension fund or other investor that has experience operating infrastructure"

One of countless shortcuts to judging “should I spend more than 1 second near you?” is snuggling up to antivax anything. Distinctly remember the empty feeling early in 2020 when a person I valued threw it away for “Ontario Strong” madness. Now a day w/o dropping someone is a relaxing joy.
🧵So, this is a bit of a rabbit hole, so let me explain to the uninitiated. The Clownvoy/anti-vax/Alberta Separatist/Rebel fake News/Canada Proud/Maple MAGA crowd, keep trying to relive their glory days of a successful mass disinfo, grift & destabilization op. Enter #CPC MP #DeanAllison.

Make it private only, cut off all Federal health funding, let it sort itself out. Voila.
It lines doc's pockets, let's those who can afford to buy their way to the front of the line feel important and "right," while undermining access and care for everyone else - breaking universal public care and violating the Canada Health Act. The exact opposite of the problems needing to be solved.
