Geopolitics, shifting sentiment & fading FUD around Chinese #EVs are converging. After a decade of slow burn, adoption is accelerating. Australia hit 1 in 4 new cars fully battery-electric (BEV) a decade ahead of forecast & this is just take-off, disruption S-curves aren't gentle. #Bettrification

Since the Hormuz crisis, EU gas prices are up 132% and oil 52%. Electricity is up 44%, after falling through spring.

Every boiler, car and furnace that switches to electricity is less exposed to the energy crisis.

Electrification is increasingly energy security.

It's astounding #Canada isn't on the naughty list! The rest of NATO should cancel the meeting. Also, time to create sub alliances inside NATO.
Per Politico citing 6 diplomats familiar with the matter, Trump admin is excluding the UK, France and Baltic countries from a NATO meeting on alliance’s future next month in Poland — after threatening to deploy a “naughty and nice list” against governments that have run afoul of Trump’s priorities.

446. Chainsaw Retrofit to Net Zero and the Secret Powers of the Energy Advisor
CHASING NET ZERO SERIES AUDIO BLOG By David Dodge, GreenEnergyFutures.ca For Stephen Magneron, a “chainsaw retrofit” offered the precise remedy to convert a 1970s bungalow into a high-performance net-zero residence. This description might evoke a horror film where Leatherface uses a chainsaw to tear apart a house. Yet “chainsaw retrofits” are an established—common approach for upgrading older homes. “We chopped off the overhangs, and then we wrapped the building with an airtight membrane, and then insulated it with a Larsen Truss system on the walls and the roof,” says Stephen Magneron, a master energy advisor with…

My favourite chart from the @IEA special report on electrification. Electricity is only 23% of Final Energy (No big deal), but it's 37% of Useful Energy (What?) and delivers 46% of GDP (Wow!) And it's going clean, fast. Still think there's no transition?

This is better energy journalism than you'll see in most Canadian newspapers today -- and certainly anything coming out of Postmedia in Alberta.

I've yet to see any of the talking heads and industry spokespeople actually confront it.

Exactly, who are the customers, outside of the investors? How long are the contracts? How does the gas glut impact prices ?
Given the Iran war and Qatar's facilities need to be rebuilt there's a very short-term opportunity.

We were treated to a preseason media blitz about up tempo play. Aggressive forecheck, better goaltending, balanced lines, all in team play.

That evaporated quickly. Did Ike Howard see the ice in the third period.

"Samanski proved to be a highly intelligent, positionally sound forward. This is a player who is consistently in position to break up passes and support his defencemen down low on retrievals, while also particularly excelling at making subtle, controlled plays under pressure without panicking."
