There's probably legit criticisms of the Whittaker and Ncuti years but people who say things introduced in 2005 like a story arc structure or romance is how Doctor Who went wrong sometimes feels like one of those soldiers in a remote location still fighting World War II thirty years later.

I don't think Takaya Imamura leaving Nintendo in 2021 debunks the puppet thing, it just means it's only AN offered explanation rather than THE explanation of the Zelda remake's art direction.

The Zelda timeline isn't automatically the most interesting part of my favourite video game series and its cohesiveness can be a mixed bag. Nonetheless I always side eye those arrogant "it's not real, it's retellings" takes.

I know it might be because there's literally 110 of them (not including New Year's Treat) but good god there's a big overlap between Taskmaster contestants and other panel shows.

What hyperrealistic AAA games have characters that actually look like Ocarina of Time '26 anyway? It feels closest in vibe to Twilight Princess or Hyrule Warriors, especially for the major characters and bosses.

You can disagree with the decisions made for the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake without peddling the nonsense lie that Nintendo's recent slate is only remake after remake.

Yes the new Nintendo releases are primarily geared for children and not aging millennials. I have no reason to assume that wouldn't be the case for the Ocarina of Time and Star Fox remakes.

I actually do like how it looks for the most part but please learn how to be an actual hater and stop calling it AI. It's very obviously not ai you just don't like anything from nintendo looking more realistic than BotW.
I do hate that everyone is like “wow the oot remake looks like genAI” like you can just say it looks bad without pissing and shitting on a bunch of actual devs and artists

Yeah, people have been complaining about Zelda art direction for every new game for far longer than many of you have been around. This is just how it was going to be no matter how it looked. Here is too another forty years of this discourse.

Many Zelda games from Wind Waker mention past heroes. Waker itself refers to the hero of time by name. They're standalone enough, but there's many that are individually prequels or sequels and even (admittedly contradictory) origins of hero's clothes. Which WW and Twilight Princess Link are handed.
