I still like Doctor Who. He/him. 35. Lives in 🇬🇧.
"Zelda was better when Nintendo said there was no timeline"

So....1986 I guess?

I am no fan of America's post-9/11 foreign policy, Democrat or Republican.

America did not deserve 9/11.

I don't think Takaya Imamura leaving Nintendo in 2021 debunks the puppet thing, it just means it's only AN offered explanation rather than THE explanation of the Zelda remake's art direction.

The Zelda timeline isn't automatically the most interesting part of my favourite video game series and its cohesiveness can be a mixed bag. Nonetheless I always side eye those arrogant "it's not real, it's retellings" takes.

To be honest, the Castle Town NPCs looking simplistic compared to Link or Zelda IS in a way faithful to the original Ocarina of Time

500,000 views on that AI YouTube episode of Doctor Who

Oh god. Full HD remakes of the Skulltula house in Ocarina of Time.

Whatever pisses me off about Zelda discourse, I just know that X formerly Twitter will be so much worse and nasty.

Yeah, greebling doesn't make sense in relation to armour pieces or belt details. And certainly not for embroidery or thatching. #Zelda

Yeah ok the people saying the OoT Remake just looks like "Nintendo hired the man" or "Unreal Engine 5 asset flip" can eat sand.

I know it might be because there's literally 110 of them (not including New Year's Treat) but good god there's a big overlap between Taskmaster contestants and other panel shows.

What hyperrealistic AAA games have characters that actually look like Ocarina of Time '26 anyway? It feels closest in vibe to Twilight Princess or Hyrule Warriors, especially for the major characters and bosses.
September 8, 2026 at 9:00 PM
You can disagree with the decisions made for the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake without peddling the nonsense lie that Nintendo's recent slate is only remake after remake.
September 8, 2026 at 8:40 PM
Yes the new Nintendo releases are primarily geared for children and not aging millennials. I have no reason to assume that wouldn't be the case for the Ocarina of Time and Star Fox remakes.

I can't believe we're at the point where embroidery is seen as going "too far" with a redesign

I actually do like how it looks for the most part but please learn how to be an actual hater and stop calling it AI. It's very obviously not ai you just don't like anything from nintendo looking more realistic than BotW.
I do hate that everyone is like “wow the oot remake looks like genAI” like you can just say it looks bad without pissing and shitting on a bunch of actual devs and artists

Sometimes I need to remember that people have always been Normal about new zelda releases all the way since Wind Waker at least.

Yeah, people have been complaining about Zelda art direction for every new game for far longer than many of you have been around. This is just how it was going to be no matter how it looked. Here is too another forty years of this discourse.

I'm glad Nintendo kept the heart of the Zelda series alive in the new remake by getting a large portion of fans pissed off about the graphics

Many Zelda games from Wind Waker mention past heroes. Waker itself refers to the hero of time by name. They're standalone enough, but there's many that are individually prequels or sequels and even (admittedly contradictory) origins of hero's clothes. Which WW and Twilight Princess Link are handed.
Does the Kingdom Hearts story make more sense than the Zelda Timeline?

The BBC is indeed talking about Reform UK and Channel 4. It's on the front page as of this writing, and even has a shared Chris Mason byline. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
