How we know that splitting up the MMR vaccine could be dangerous www.statnews.com/2026/08/11/h... @matthewherper.bsky.social via @statnews.com

"...it will mean more missed vaccine doses, and more sick kids."

"...a 10% decrease in MMR vaccination would result in 11 million cases over 25 years."
How we know that splitting up the MMR vaccine could be dangerous
It's no mystery. History tells us that President Trump’s executive order calling for the MMR to be split into separate shots could do real harm.

Lewis reflects authenticity and genuineness. I'm sure there are many that don't agree with him, but it is amazing how many voters will admire a politician that sticks to their beliefs and answer questions free from spin and emptiness.
Federal NDP leader Avi Lewis speaks to packed Saskatoon crowd on party rebuild tour
Lewis, who was elected leader of the federal New Democrats in March, has taken the helm at a critical juncture for the party. By his account, the tour so far has been "thrilling."

Got to watch this as it happened!
Very exciting, also for the Italian gold medal winner on her home ice.
BRONZE FOR CANADA 🇨🇦

Valerie Maltais, in her 5th Olympics, wins bronze for Canada in the 3000m final.

It’s her first individual medal in long track speed skating. And it’s Canada’s first medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

I worked as a public health nurse for 17 years, we tried very hard to keep immunization rates up, but misinformation and disinformation has been winning the battle & here we are… Measles Elimination Status in 🇨🇦 GONE.

We need better leadership & it sure isn’t coming from provincial governments.
And just like that, we lose our measles elimination status after 27 years. Three decades of work, gone.

Also, #Budget2025 framing $2.7 billion in cuts to international development assistance as "Savings" is pretty distasteful...

Just look at the human lives lost as a direct result of cuts by other countries so far this year. Aren't those lives the sort of saving we should be concerned about?

Using the notwithstanding clause to strip away human rights is an attack on democracy and must be fought with everything we've got. It started with the SaskParty's Bill-137 and now it's Alberta with Bill-2. This is rising authoritarianism (a la USA) and we need to call it out for what it is.
