My dad died three years ago today after exposure to asbestos. Asbestos remains in so much of our infrastructure; this article remains depressingly important.

4/ Domestic and foreign policy need to rhyme. You can't devolve power in UK without a global theory of industrial/knowledge clusters. You can't drive affordability without a grip on global renewables/electrification. You can't hone UK tech strengths without a vision for global digital governance.

Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales.

Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37.

They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

The idea English identity is confined to ethnicity & ancestry is more niche than abolishing monarchy/joining Euro

But media elites skew & overcompensate to an imaginary caricature of public = weird assymetry: venerate niches on right as 'authentic' but would lecture progressives about median voter

Please read this, understand what the govt is doing & take action. Labour's immigration proposals swap integration for segregation, introduce a Dubai-style Kafala system of coercive employer control & drive low-income families into poverty. They're an abomination.

Europe imagines it can win at Washington’s “neo-royalist” game. Trump sees Europe as an extension of his domestic retribution campaign. Both are wrong, and both underestimate Europe’s ability to fight back (if it finds the will). My thoughts for @agendapublica.es:

Not sure people realize how INSANELY DRAINING data centers will be on our planet.

If you imagine data centers as their own country, they'll rank fourth in global electricity use by 2035 — outranked only by China, India, and the U.S.

Read this in @bloomberg.com👇

AI Data Centers Are Sending Power Bills Soaring
Wholesale electricity costs as much as 267% more than it did five years ago in areas near data centers. That’s being passed on to customers.
