A little late, but happy International Cat Day! This year I've finally made more cat related art, and these have really soothed my soul! Give a big hug to your adorable cats at home for me 🥲

If you're looking for stickers or prints for your kitty collection, check my shop! www.artbydianita.com/shop
Painting of a chubby orange cat with dragon wings and tiny horns flying with belts around his belly and colorful balloons helping him float. 3 crows are startled around him Painting of a happy, serene calico/tortoiseshell cat. Big dragon wings. She's holding dandelions and has a white flower necklace. She's sitting on the top of a little mount with lots of dandelions around. 2 blue butterflies are flying over her head. A funny, gray chubby mercat with a tail of a seal is extending his arm up to play with a puffin that's flying on top of him. A full moon far in the back. The seal-cat is sitting on a rock, waves around. 2 puffins float in the foreground. 2 cats and 3 baby dragons are sitting on a Day of the Dead altar. They sliced the bread and are eating together. The cat is a calico, and she's very chubby. The second cat is holding a cup of milk, she's white with some spots on her forehead. There are 2 sugar skulls and a few marigolds.

#myOC_tober Day 5 (1 day late!)

2 friends. One is very superstitious, the other very logical but with a very big mouth (like my husband and I 😂)

I was giving backstories and overthinking it too much.
I chose a glimpse into their life this time.

Battling a cold, with things to finish is awful!
Drawing of 2 friends made with ink Close up of one of the characters. Close up of the second character. Back hair, holding a book. Wearing pajamas. Photo of the ink drawing with some of the materials I used like pens and nib holders

This square design from Liana George has a pale cream-colored background. Several bars in pastel colors contain items in a list, with bullet-points that look like a heart in a circle. At the top it says, “WHY BOOK REVIEWS MATTER TO AUTHORS” The listed reasons are: “Insights as to who’s reading their books. Insights as to what they did well. Influences readers and potential buyers. Affects how people find their books. Morale booster.” Centered at the bottom it says, “lianageorge.com.”

Like have some sense of self preservation? never upload your 300 dpi resolution files, etc. keep your online posts at a respectable 74-150 dpi. Jpg’s preferablyz 😤 at 300+ most people can print your stuff at high res on billboards.

In August, I created a small 6 page manga for a contest. Theme was: Clothes

It was hectic. I almost quit because I misread the deadline (as I usually do) but I managed to send it 10 min before the limit 😐

Not perfect AT ALL! But it's done!
I have to translate the rest of 4koma for this story 🥲

Day 4 of #myOC_tober, I have another little 4koma!

Hana-chan, a little Japanese girl moved with her family to Mexico. She and her sister are meeting their friends to go to a traditional clothing fair in downtown Mexico City.

This is part of my entry for a contest (Theme: Clothes😅).
Manga panel. 4 girls in Mexican Folkloric dresses saying hi Hana-chan is startled by the "princesses" saying hi to her Caro introduces her cousin Julieta to Hana-chan. Julieta tells Hana-chan about Mexico's diverse folkloric dresses and of course, Hana-chan is quite surprised!

Hopefully I'll be able to start polishing the storyboard for the first chapters before the new year 😭

If I ever finish my current illustration and commissions to do list... 🫩🤌🏼🤌🏼

On day 3 of #myOC_tober, here's a little 4koma!

A peek into "Seasons of Love". Demani making breakfast and Elios being the adorable cutie that he is.

I started the storyboard for the first chapter too! I hope that once I'm done with illustration commissions and gallery work, I'll continue with it!
A guy surprising his boyfriend from behind. Elios is the blonde guy behind. He's inventing words to charm Demani. Demani is a black guy, today with the hair braided who's making sunny side up eggs. Elios is stretching while Demani touches his belly with a cute smile. Elios hugs Demani from behind.

I've been debating if I should post about my little manga making practice... I started this year after rediscovering my old stories from the 90's. Nowadays, while dealing with the worst burnout of my life, manga has helped me pull out from this abyss.

If you're curious, I made a bsky too 🥰
eclipse-dianita.bsky.social Eclipse @eclipse-dianita.bsky.social · 4d
Hi! I finally decided to make a page to share my manga practice! I'm Dianita, but on the manga side, I chose "Eclipse" as my artist name.

I'm just starting to actually work on a few 4koma and I've entered 2 contests just to get over the fear of knowing people will see my attempts😐

Let's do this!💪🏼
Personal introduction in manga style! Introducing characters. Introduction to more characters Introduction to other characters and conclusion.

If you think an artist's style looks like AI but you can scroll back through their portfolio and see them doing the same work before 2020, congrats, you're not looking at an AI grifter. You're looking at one of the original victims whose entire style AI stole.

Today is my birthday. 🎉

In lieu of sharing my artwork, I'm asking for people to share and/or donate to Kate’s Cat Rescue. Even $2 would help the rescue build to their next TNR day.

I've worked with them in the past. They're amazing at helping the strays and ferals in Cornwall, Ontario.
Kate’s Cat Rescue is based in Cornwall, Ontario and works to TNR the feral and stray population, helps cats find foster homes, helps supply the foster homes with food and litter out of pocket to keep the burden off fosters, and to end the cycle of cats being placed in harsh conditions.

Portrait of an African woman inspired in Mia Araujo's book "Afia and the land of Wonders". A cat shaped mask is to our left, roses appear as a pattern below it and on the right a gazelle can be seen in the background next to a tree. A Black woman is looking calmly away. A jaguar's face next to her and in the background a galaxy that tries to keep creating stars. Medusa portrait with shiny snakes. She looks at us with calm and bits of defiance. A Black woman with curly, blue hair is looking at us. In her hair we see stars and next to her, the Voyager spaceship is portrayed.

A digital sketch of a woman holding a sword, the sword's blade bisects the image, and the woman's head and body appear differently on either side of the sword. On one side, we see a woman clad in armour and adorned with flowers. On the other, a horned beast with its mouth open.

Graphite on paper.

I've missed creating creepy art a lot. Right now, I'm at a point where I feel like I want to scream, but I have to remain polite and, yeah... now I have new doodles for weird art.

Happy Sunday 🥰
Graphite drawing of a female representing figure/woman looking directly at us opening her mouth. There are flowers coming out of her eye socket to our left and a hole in her chest. The inside of her chest looks like a damaged tree. On the other side, there's a tiny flower peeking. And on the front, flowers are coming out. There are wavy trees behind her. Her hair is dark and very long.

'The Chase' Painting from my book Savage Strangehollow, excerpt about these dragons in alt text: buff.ly/7krkipG
#dragon #dragonchase #dragons #fantasy #folklore #dragonlore
Every couple of generations or so, the mountains of Strangehollow are visited by a true goliath from the west. This dragon visits these lands for one reason only, to hunt The Red Death. It is the colour of night, its long neck covered in giant pointed scales which extend over its back and down to the tip of its tail. Its wings are vast, engulfing the land below in shadow and able to turn day into night. Its arrival always coincides with a violent lightning storm, starting far out at sea and sweeping towards the western shores of Strangehollow and the great mountain range where the red dragons dwell. It is believed that the dragon itself... image description: a great black winged dragon dives out of thunderclouds, crackling with lightning, chasing a smaller red dragon across the mountain tops

A small calico purrmaid lazily swims through coral reefs after a long nap. That's when she spots the perfect fish. Not big enough to give her trouble. But just big enough to make a meal.

This original 11"x14" acrylic painting is available until tonight: bazaar.brutalsun.com/products/sar...
"Sardine!", an 11 by 14 inch original acrylic painting of a calico mermaid cat. I first sketched the study for this purrmaid in Krita. I then transferred my study over to an MDF art panel. No AI was used to conceptualize this merkitty at all. Just looked at a few reference photos of cats and marine life.

You know I love peafowl; but every time I begin one, I very soon regret it...
Line drawing in pencil of the shoulder of a male blue peafowl, with its overlapping feathers creating repeating, curved stripes, the kind that either induce tedium to draw and paint, or to drive one slightly mad and cross-eyed. A work in progress.

Kindness is a choice
The image shows a text-based post that expresses thoughts on kindness and trauma. It consists of two entries: 1. First entry (factumnihil): • “the trauma made you kind” fuck that. no. i am kind because i cannot allow anyone to go through what i did. i am soft because i chose to be. 2. Second entry (peculiar-persephone): • Trauma made me scared, angry, and vulnerable. I made myself kind. The exchange emphasizes personal agency in cultivating kindness despite past trauma.
