Okay, I've made a post on my Patreon about this account being a thing. So hello to those of you who got here because of it! While I said I would be more active here, I'm not the type to post daily, so don't expect too much. I'm not the best with social media.

Okay, got the last Dungeon's Path chapter I'm late on from last week written. Now I just need to edit the NR and D'sP chapters. Then I post them and can start working on finishing the monthly Patreon exclusive very short story for this month which needs finishing. Blarg on losing a week. #amwriting

As part of trying to use this more, I'm going to note that after having a fever and headache all last week, I am making headway on the late chapters. I've been generally behind the last few months to begin with and naively thought I might catch up this month.

in the age of AI, making art is a radical act

I'm going to need to use this account more for general updates on my work. Or rather, I need to actually get around to adding this to my list of "here I am" things so my readers know about it. Blarg. Had too much time to think about this whole being sick this week. Headache no let write well.

Oh hey, wouldn't this just explain why I see so many AI covers.

Every once in a while YouTube will serve me up some fountain pen videos.

Now, I would like to try one at some point, but I will never need one. In fact, the second I could use a PC to write, things became so much easier.

But still. My God. I love the artistry and craft that goes into them.

I’m in dozens of Reddit book communities and I can confirm this. More and more readers are talking about turning away from indies because of a fear of AI.

So fuck you very much, gen AI users. Absolutely heinous, loser behaviour.
People who use AI to write literally don't realize how much they harm writers who DON'T use AI. They're making people want to support us indie writers less. And it sucks, but I don't blame them. Lord knows I don't wanna take a risk and accidentally purchase AI either. AI affects EVERYONE.

Now sounds like a great time to register a domain for your comic and migrate, folks.

eBay's new Vero portal has somehow gotten more tedious. I submitted complaints on a dozen listings 3 times and had to respond to multiple emails to figure out what they're looking for.

The infringement here was use of the KA symbol in jewelry, decals, and tshirts. 1/3

Microsoft decided to not allow me to use Word anymore because my OS is old. It still worked a week ago, but they decided I don't deserve it anymore and locked me out, even though I pay for it (have to for work reasons). Fucking assholes.

Book banners are creating scam tools to continue the grift.

According to their tool the completely made up "Banned Book Club 3: Hyun Sook Does a Hanky Panky" is more suitable for children than the actual childrens books that I write (and they make up excerpts from)

How completely fake is this book banning tool?
I made up a fake book that I never wrote and it confidently told me what was wrong with it.

I just looked up my own books in this.

"There are multiple scenes depicting explicit sexual acts including nudity, and sexual encounters described or visually illustrated in detail."

"frequent use of profanity such as "f--k," "s--t," and other strong curse words."

Completely made up nonsense.
Heads up! Just seen a new book banning tool called BookLens promoted by 'Citizens for Decency' it can scan an ISBN and provide a precis showing how deviant & porn-filled books are The 'content breakdowns' are powered by ChatGPT. 📚📜

That's a hit of nostalgia. Always did that school thing where you got free pizzas for reading a lot so seeing that kind of tugs at the heart. Will probably have pizza for dinner.

IMPORTANT: For any artists/writers/etc etc, using Linktree to point people to their work, from 5 July, they'll be feeding all imagery you use on your landing page into DALL-E by OpenAI.

I deleted my account this morning.

Bsky is apparently gonna start flagging whole accounts as nsfw soon so if you don't already know about your moderation settings, highly suggest switching nsfw from Hide to Warn; otherwise many creators will completely vanish from your timeline when they roll this out.
