As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.

Trans rights are human rights, but conversely human rights are trans rights, because if you allow them to dismantle trans people's human rights you let them set out a clear pathway for them to dismantle other people's human rights, and that's a genie that can't be put back in the toothpaste tube

Come watch my cool friend run around in Palia hunting down shiny gems tomorrow for charity!! All donations support the Trevor Project!
Unfortunately due to some big stuff I'm not going to be able to stream my regular hours for the next 2-4 weeks.

On a brighter note, one last stream This Saturday before i go. I'll be competing in a Palia Charity Gem Hunt and the community can help by donating, sharing, or farming gems with me!

the girl guides in the UK just kicked out all their trans members specifically bc they were threatened with a lawsuit from a rowling-funded group
i think sometimes cis people truly have a hard time understanding that jk rowling is a living person actively using her wealth to fund the international assault on trans lives. she’s not some Complicated Author we can have a spirited debate about separating from the art with!!!!!

I know I keep circling back to this, but I don't think k a lot of well-meaning people realise how much it rankles when the response to Harry Potter funding trans genocide is a focus on "what to read instead to be a Good Person" rather than, I dunno, more directly helping combat the trans genocide.
While it's nice to see more noise about how terrible JKR is, as a trans woman I would appreciate it if there was less focus on "here's what you can read instead" and more "here's how you can materially help trans people".

We're the victims here, please stop centring the purity of your bookshelves.

“Earth is a pleasure cruise for 1000 people and we're all just the staff.”
I literally saw a post two weeks back in which a guy with two jobs was flagellating himself because he was short on rent, lamenting that had he donated plasma more, maybe his rent would be on time. This system is deeply fucked. Earth is a pleasure cruise for 1000 people and we're all just the staff.
Is this the “golden age” economy we’ve heard so much about?

These funds in Israel go to a number of projects, including nuclear research at the Weizmann Inst.

Reisman and Schwartz will have you think Indigo is a small family-run business, but Indigo is far from that, considering the substantial wealth they transfer to support genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Reminder to all my fellow Canadians not to do any of your holiday shopping at Chapters/Indigo. They try to sell themselves as a more responsible Canadian Amazon alternative but their CEO uses her wealth to support Israel's genocide of Palestine.
Indigo Kills Kids is a social campaign calling for a renewed push to boycott Indigo due to its CEO's involvement in the oppression of Palestinians and its complicity in the genocide in Gaza. #BoycottIndigo #IndigoKillsKids | boycottindigobooks.com

The looting of aid in Gaza by "humanitarian rights organisations-backed Hamas" was -of course- actually by Israel, because Israel lies, Western media just prints it, and now a year later the rectification is published after the Palestinians are dead already.

Tension implies this is a mutual conflict. Reality, which has been admitted to by the peace prize winner who wants a coup to install her and recently a House GOP member, is that it’s a singular effort by the US to steal Venezuela’s vast oil & gas reserves.

The thing is we've known that housing the homeless is cheaper than neglect, we've known that Ubi is effective at eliminating poverty, we've known that heavily subsidized housing and education leads people into the middle class, we've known all of these things in some cases for 70 years.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
