I read Yesteryear for bookclub and we all had the wildest time. Some loved it, some hate it, and others were meh.

I gave it a 5 out of 5. Fantastic! We also had both the US and Euro book covers.

I haven’t been posting my reading consistently, but I’m still here reading consistently.

This recent read was a 6/5 stars for me. The writing style was absolutely fantastic. Bravo.

Some unexpected recent joy in my life recently has been being extra and building a website for my gay kickball team with another team member who is absolutely a graphic design pro. Check it out: blueboyschicago.com

I had this exact same discourse with my neighbors in my previous building. The empty lot next door was being planned to be a housing building. The traffic complaints were endless, and the building is just blocks from the redline in uptown.

Housing near public transit encourages car-free living
A Bucktown resident is perplexed by neighbors who think housing near a Blue Line stop will bring more cars. Also, the Illini men's basketball team, Trump and what spring break was like for teens back ...

Bad news: Baseball season starts on Thursday

Good news: We are nearly complete with our brand new website which will now work with all events at Wrigley field including concerts... oh and we made it work for Soldier Field too!

Here is a preview, we hope to roll it out soon! Bluesky saw it first!

Currently reading, “Conversations with Friends” by Sally Rooney. I’m just sad that I’ve read every other book she has written. Now I’ll have to wait for her to write another. She’s such an amazing writer.

Unfortunately, I’m not the type for Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. I see the appeal, but I will not be reading the rest of the series.

Hot take: I don’t love a novel written in excerpts, transcripts or newspaper clippings. I’m currently reading “Murder in the Family” by Cara Hunter and I cannot keep focus.

Quick Review: As someone at an HFT firm, Flash Boys threw me into the electric early days of speed trading. Lewis unpacks how microseconds became millions, the secrecy and tech wizardry behind it all. Still thrilling and eye-opening years later. #booksky #currentlyreading
