When I was in high school and seeing it for the first time, “Are You Being Served” was like this for me, esp. after Mr. Grainger was gone.
What TV show got so bad it effectively destroyed your appreciation for the show when it was was good?

Looking forward to @lanceparkin.bsky.social fitting this into a future edition of AHistory!
First look at a new ‘Doctor Who’ animated series for preschoolers.

The series follows the Doctor and his friends Hannah, Beastie and Toast-IE on adventures through time and space.

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

If David Ellison had a movie studio in 1969 he'd look at the success of Easy Rider and Bonnie and Clyde and think, what movies can I make that Richard Nixon would like.

He's completely unqualified to navigate the cinematic moment we're in with young people fueling the box office.

Again I think it's really important to stress that every time Cena comments on Vince, he treats the allegations as true. Just...not a problem for him. And not even in a "it's hard to reconcile with the man I've known for over 20 years" way.

And he seemingly never gets asked follow up questions.

If you’re an MST3K fan, there’s treats in store. Saw Sting of Death in the theatre a few weeks ago and it was amazing.

One of the few TNG episodes I (fortunately?) have absolutely no recollection of.
#TrekADay

It's an incredibly crass look at suicide (including the hilarious idea only an alien is allowed to kill himself in Gene's perfect world) that has the single worst line of dialogue in TV history that isn't a slur.

Worf and Troi also fuck, but then it turns out the episode never happened.

with all respect: i'm losing touch with what AI does because i have no interest in it and it's not my business. nobody worries about me losing touch with developments in particle physics or artificial bull insemination. it's not my fault the richest guys on earth want me to make their toy my life
feels like there is a group of smart and well-intentioned people who long ago made up their minds that AI Is Bad, swore off using it, and now get all their info about AI from each other. not saying they're wrong that ai is bad! but i think they're gradually losing touch with what it is and does
I really wasn’t trying to start a fight with Prof. Bender but now that she has created a long thread subtweeting me and her disciples are all yelling at me, let me just say that this is the crux right here. She seems to respond as though I am describing something a priori impossible.

“A continuation of the false narrative that there were minimal consequences in this case is irresponsible, will make survivors feel less safe and supported, and will perpetuate the underreporting of sexual assault,” said Kyle Kimball, the vice president for university relations, in a statement.”
