A Labyrinth set is a great opportunity to bring the principles of songfic to Magic, like:

You remind me of the babe (Enchant: Exile)
What babe? (Instant: Counter creature)
The babe with the power (Creature - Human)
What power? (Instant: Counter noncreature)
The power of voodoo (Sorcery)
Shhh… the corn whispers many secrets. Like that the Corn Maze Superdrop arrives on October 12.

If one day we want the students of Starfleet Academy to be able to come into the city and continue it's horny legacy long into the future we need to start those transit connections now
I always thought under-slung BART wouldn’t fit through the Golden Gate Bridge towers, but it turns out BART is small and the bridge is huge. Here is a mockup in 1/100 scale, BART fits easily.

I'm mad on behalf of The Good Place, the rare puzzle box show that stuck the landing and should be higher (but is probably too optimistic for people)

I also need to know where the fuck Orphan Black is.

The UK economy has three major industries: Warhammer, Onlyfans and Little Alex Horne
As I keep pointing out, does no one understand Ricardian comparative advantage anymore.

FACT: China produces over 1 million engineering graduates per year

FACT: To date, China has not produced a single internationally marketable game show format

Where does it look like our advantage lies?
A cheery message from the new minister responsible for research funding for the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences (and the subjects that the majority of UK taught undergraduate and Masters students study).

Apparently running Strahd as a woman has fully cooked my brain because I just scoffed a little at how much less interesting his origin is an just another power-hungry man.

What's really worrisome to me is that they and the backing of a large university. Those museums are usually considered to be safer than independent ones. It's scary to think what this means for us at smaller science museums.

Fun fact: trehalose is also what helps monarch butterflies be freeze-resistant when overwintering in the mountains in Mexico
A tetanus-diphtheria vaccine that doesn’t need a fridge has passed its first human trial. UK scientists reformulated a licensed shot using trehalose, the sugar that lets desert plants survive without water, keeping it stable for up to two years at 30°C. Gavi buff.ly/1kNIUHB

Fridge-free vaccine passes first human trial, raising hopes for the hardest-to-reach
Unreliable electricity makes it hard to keep vaccines at the right temperature – this development could change that.

In this house, Canadian culture is making fun of "freedom units" compared to metric but then measuring height and weight in inches/feet and pounds.
Also - please join me if you will in flooding Bluesky with Canadian culture.

Still thinking about the Luddites I came across this. How fascinating it is to watch what might be the germ of a neo-Luddite movement around surveillance technology. And a guy writing a nudge-wink, fuck-the-man, banger of a country song makes me feel American in a way that for once isn’t pejorative.
