Hello Bsky! I'm a graphic designer and illustrator based in Brisbane, Australia. My background is in academia (psychology, neuroscience) and I'm interested in accessibility.

Here are some recent designs I'm proud of.

#graphicdesign #digitaldesign #logodesign #branddesign #a11y #branding #design
A detailed black and white ink illustration of a betta fish in profile with the label Betta Fish. It has a white fill and is floating over a blue wave background. A chaotic composition with black and white dithered photographs and loopy type reading cloud nine. It features a parrot, a dove in flight, grapes, flowers like daisies, daffodils, sunflowers, clouds, an egg's nest, an eye, a tuft of grass, and hands reaching toward the sky and a skyscraper in the horizon. 1,440,000 bytes of creativity. 3 1/2 inch floppy diskettes by bitmate. Four colours available pink, yellow, green, and blue. The bitmate logo is a cartoon y2k rabbit running to the left with rainbow speed lines and a heart by its head. The a in the brand name bitmate is a rabbit's head and the dot of the i is a pink heart. The logo uses four down arrow glyphs and ovals on top to depict bright green plant buds in soil plots. The text Green Cloud Computing Association is below the graphic in green and white text on a brown background.

A pie chart with two values: "Better assistive technology" and "Better (more accessible) web sites". Better assistive technology occupies 83.9%, and Better (more accessible) web sites occupies 16.1%. Cropped screenshot.

Excited to share a logo design I made for BluePerch who provide funding for high-impact farmed animal advocacy projects. The logo has good contrast and comes with a HTML style guide. futurehorizondesign.net.au/portfolio/bl...

The BluePerch logo features a stylised sunbird with a simplified and stylised appearance with geometric divisions for the wings and body. It has its head raised with its body perched on arcing blue petals. The main colours are yellow and brown for the sunbird with blue for the petals. The brand name BluePerch uses a sans-serif font positioned under the logomark.

Best BINGO board I’ve ever seen
ericwbailey.website Eric Bailey @ericwbailey.website · May 21
Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day! #a11y #GAAD
A bingo card with the title of, "GAAD Bingo". The bingo card is a five by five grid. Starting from the top left and reading to the right then downwards to the first cell of the next row, the grid's cells are: Increased errors compared to the last WebAIM Millions report. Links only indicated using color. Brand partnership with an overlay company. Conspicuously absent message due to current political climate. Disability de-centered to communicate value for all. No accessibility statement. Promotional images don’t have alt text. The phrase “Differently abled” in quotes. Decorative Braille. AI agent with an unnecessarily feminine name. People are de-centered in favor of hyping technology. Post written by external consultant. A free space with the same title, featuring the Vitruvian Man symbol commonly used to indicate digital accessibility placed upside down and a sub-caption that reads "I am so tired" in tiny text. Disability dongle is debued or promoted. Videos are missing captions. SEO or AI benefits emphasized more than human-facing value. SEO or AI benefits emphasized more than human-facing value. Inspiration porn. Company does not have remote work roles. Overlay company astroturfing. The phrase, “Alt tags” in quotes. Illustration uses a hospital wheelchair. No focus styles. C-level employees openly using the R-word on X. Unsolicited PDF remediation spam. Full-screen parallax scrolling effects.

For the May Inkscape challenge I made a seamless pattern of some citrus fruits. I hope you all like it.

This blog post is about the Inkscape Seamless Pattern template: futurehorizondesign.net.au/posts/2026-0...

a seamless pattern with a saturated yellow background and a square tile of sliced oranges and magenta grapefruits with green leaves fanning out behind them. The view is top down to a rounded slice and uses highly saturated orange and brick red.

Sharing some old artwork because I don't hate it as much as when I first made it.

It's a randomart, a visual way of validating SSH keys. Except I turned it into an Atari style weather forecast.

#krita #atari #retrocomputing #retro #pixelart #linux
Weather Randomart with five large example weather made of double wide blocky pixels: cloudy, cloud with possibility of rain, cloud with sun, cloud with rain, thunderstorm. A randomart grid is overlaid over a closeup of the state queensland of Australia with icons scattered over the coast and inland in a diagonal. The icons include smaller versions abstracted yellow, blue, or cyan squares representing different types of sunny to rainy weather. Beneath it reads RSA 3072.

A cartoon with flat colours on a purple and yellow isometric grid background. Xue the mouse has climbed onto the mug and is looking at the swirling liquid inside. The mug is filled with red-pink liquid and the debian swirl logo is like a curl of steam. Tux the penguin is sleeping against the tea mug and saucer on the opposite side with his fins resting on his stomach. The Linux, XFCE logo, and Debian text logo are in two separate purple squares of the grid and have a light yellow fill. The latter two are listed as XFCE x Debian.

I'm happy to announce I'm launching the world's first HMM or Human Manual Model. Unlike a LLM, a HMM allows users to give tasks to a human via spoken or typed prompts. The human will do the tasks and will even learn how to do the task more efficiently if the task is to be repeated.
