LA means a lot to me. I feel like there’s always room for improvement. But advocating for safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists, more housing and transit doesn’t make me “a gentrifier who wants to destroy Black and brown neighborhoods across LA.” 😑

Wow, this quote by Mayor Bass is bananas. Speaking about an underground subway line like it's a 1950s-era highway demolishing and dividing Black neighborhoods.
Karen Bass characterizes the proposed K Line Northern Extension route tunneling 80-120’ below a neighborhood of $1.8m homes as leading to “displacement” of Black and brown people.

I really wanted to ask them if they needed help finding the alley, but I know 95%+ of the time someone on a bike (or walking) tries to point out an illegal and unsafe choice a driver has made, the driver responds with anger, apathy or both.
So I just rolled by.
