Ooh. The cask that got left behind…
I can’t recall why we didn’t get to serve it at our pop up - but here it is. 3ish years later served with a sparkler. It’s delicious! Brick ESB (when they were still in Peckham and good). And it’s only here tomorrow. NYD.
Thanks Brexit. The gift that keeps on giving.

Looking like we will be on later than scheduled boat. Isn’t it tradition to sit a car park and have a picnic while on holiday.

Feel like there’s a sweet irony when the train guard announces that the air con isn’t working in the first class carriage. #happybeingstandard

Yeah. That’ll do thanks. Air con working its magic today.

What’s that. No no. We aren’t really a football pub…

Except the Charlton memorabilia and sometimes sneakily putting the match on the tv.

On June 10th, the eve of the World Cup, Stewart and I will give a talk about anti-fascism & football
@thegreengoddesspub.bsky.social, Blackheath. KO 8pm.

There’ll be a Q&A in Extra Time & @stanchionbooks.bsky.social will be there offering books from where radical politics and football intersect.

@davidjesudason.bsky.social one to keep an eye on. New Desi pub looks set to be opening in Plumstead - the Plume has been closed for some years, and garden redeveloped into housing.

Dear reader, we won the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) award!!
We’re currently nominated for best pub by SE London CAMRA and ‘UK’s best independent beer bar or pub - City’ in the SIBA business awards. We don’t really toot our horn very much but here we are for once - toot toot (beep beep)

Positive news!

We’ll find out about the SE CAMRA one next week I suspect and at BeerX in Liverpool for the SiBA award. Fingers crossed!

We’ve got @indierabble.bsky.social taking over our cask lines from Thursday. Ordering the beers may or may not have had something to do with the badges!

Absolute works of art!
Launches Thursday 26th

Ah yes. Forgot that as a mere pedestrian I must defer always to the more important car. Which naturally went speeding off, after threatening me, because I happened to be crossing a raised entry side road in front of him. #pedestrains #angerissues

We’ve just spent a few days in London stomping our way through the West, the East and the South, stopping to look at pubs and drink a few beers along the way.

What a shocking waste of opportunity this government has proved to be.
It has squandered its time and attention on ridiculous fiscal rules, persecuting refugees and trashing ecosystems in the name of growth, while failing to deliver what we so desperately want.

Sat in a micropub resisting the temptation to correct the “know it all” that sat on table next to me and proceeded to inform his guests all the wrong things about beer.

Wow. This is where we are at. Shift to the right is complete. Door open for Fartage et el to sweep in. We thought the country was fucked under the Tories, apparently we ain’t seen nothing yet.
Not everyone is unhappy about the Government's descent into anti-refugee politics

Guess who isn’t in Camra’s Good Beer Guide for another year?! Yes, it’s us! Luckily we know we serve good beer and we will continue to do so even if our local branch members don’t seem to recognise that.
