New — I wrote about this weird thing where people within the Republican party keep being exposed as Nazis and the party then tries to claim each one is an aberration. The facts, as I lay out here, indicate otherwise:
Republicans don’t have a Nazi problem—they are the Nazi problem
A spate of recent revelations have shown the ideologies and their adherents are one and the same.

In a rare interview, Patrick Schiltz, who served as the federal court’s chief judge last winter, called the administration’s actions “a grave threat to the rule of law.”

If the right-wing coalition wins, this means members of a party founded by literal Nazis will for the first time join the Swedish Government and seize control of an estimated 10-12 Gov't ministries and the associated agencies.

My latest piece for The Guardian:

In Sweden, previously unthinkable far-right ideas are now comfortably embedded in the mainstream. The past four years were characterised by an astonishing acceptance of ethnonationalist views, xenophobic rhetoric and authoritarian policies often targeting children.

In 2022 my country entered a new era of cruelty. It will take more than one election to get the old, tolerant Sweden back, writes Swedish journalist Martin Gelin

Over the last five years I've been very discouraged at the way politicians in Sweden have insinuated that those of us who have become citizens in the last ten years are a threat or illegitimate.

Democracy and civil society depend on taxing billionaires so ruthlessly they lose their obscene, outsized political power.
As billionaires ruthlessly destroy life milestone after life milestone, they literally make it impossible to afford anchors for one's memories.

Generations successively simply not experiencing anchors in their life which previous generations took for granted.

Read it slow: he told a crowd he doesn't care if they're registered, just go cheat like the other side does. That's not a gaffe, it's an instruction, on camera, with his own name attached. Every Republican in that arena who cheered instead of walking out owns this too. Fuck you.

Just did a quick look around and I don't see very many headlines about the President of the US making people pledge allegiance to him personally while telling everyone to commit election fraud and "cheat like hell" to support his party.

Seems like it should be a story?

Can you even imagine?

I bet the media would have a field day asking politicians who aligned with him and took his money for statements!
