Has anyone ever been to Switzerland? I want to go see the Alps. I will not be skiing, I will be sitting in an outdoor hot tub with them as the backdrop.

I've become addicted to Dezhuang spicy sesame noodles and now Costco doesn't sell them any more.

I also had solar installed, and am now drowning in an ocean of research. I barely understand any of it.

But I understand MY NOODS, YOU BASTARDS, MY NOODS.

Ok, this "there are two separate brains" thing appears to be making the rounds, and I want to be absolutely clear: this is a press office overhyping some perfectly reasonable science that won't come as a surprise to most developmental biologists.

even if the only reason people used "y'all" in tweets WAS because they were "trying to be folksy" that's not a gotcha.

congratulations, dummy, you've discovered that writing has affect. you've discovered authorial voice.

I've been locked in an epic battle with the IRS* since January 2024 and it has finally been resolved. If it weren't 04.00 and I have meetings all day, I'd be opening a bottle of something.

Went to a funeral today, and ... modern Catholicism is so weird now. Only recorded music, no kneeling, no drama. Bring back chanting Latin in the dark, sacred mysteries obscured by a screen, statues which may weep or bleed, robes encrusted with embroidery.

The sinus infection finally cleared up, but left a parting gift on its way out: conjunctivitis! So now I have a dozen serious catch-up work meetings, with my eyes all red and puffy and weepy, to discuss the state of international banking laws before resuming my hectic crying schedule.

There is a whole world out there!
And it's crazy cold and wet and infectious and exhausting.
