The NZ Govt travels the world telling people how they take their climate commitments seriously. But at home they dismantle every policy that constrains emissions and subsidise more emissions. So we've joined international efforts to hold them to account. www.greenpeace.org/aotearoa/pre...
Greenpeace joins complaint to EU over NZ climate policy reversal - Greenpeace Aotearoa
The complaint addresses Government reversal of climate policies, which Greenpeace has labelled a 'race to the bottom on environmental regulation'.

New poll: 59% of Democrats would react positively to a military takeover removing Trump “to safeguard the Constitution”, compared with 28% negatively.

86% reacted positively to impeachment and removal and 84% to use of the 25th Amendment.

Really good Bloomberg package on the AI data centre impact on urban heat island effects in the US, with exhaust heat raising temps up to 4ºF (2.25ºC) higher up to 1/3 mile away from the data centre. One more driver to 70% US opposition to data centres.

Has research ever been done on the proclivity of sexual offenders to seek political office to obtain power to assist maintenance of their activities? Asking for a friendly nation
Given the TPU's ties to Act, let us not forget that Act also had a sexual harassment problem that resulted in a number of women leaving their youth wing.

Who investigated those allegations within the party?

The dumbass Govt has finally conceded it can't build an LNG import terminal and its dreams of a revival of fossil gas are dead. NZ wasted 3 years while this Govt delayed the transition off fossil gas, while telling the country a dangerous fossil gas fairy tale. www.greenpeace.org/aotearoa/sto...

Right now, 13% of shops in Auckland and up to 15% in Wellington are sitting completely empty. Yet commercial rents haven’t dropped in two years. Why? Because the current system protects commercial property values over vibrant, thriving communities.

So my new article asks why Swarbrick’s economics sounds so unusual in NZ politics, and why voters may be responding to it.

Ok fine, I eventually mention Warren Mosler. andrewdicksonnz.substack.com/p/chloe-swar...
Chlöe Swarbrick Knows Something About Money
The Greens’ co-leader just edged Nicola Willis on economic trust. Her language about debt, spending and productive capacity helps explain why.

REMINDER: Its September 2026, Under Labour we would have had both Cook Strait ferries by now.

Luxons replacement ferries wont be here till 2029, have less capacity for people and cars, and including Nicolas cancellation fee, will only be approx 470m cheaper.
