The US Web Design System is load-bearing infrastructure for thousands of government websites. It makes it easy for small teams with no resources (i.e. most .gov teams) to make usable, accessible websites that work for everyone.

@sarawise.bsky.social, the long-time deputy editor of the #dataviz team, was also impacted. Sara became a mentor to many of us who joined from non-traditional journalism bgs. She's got a sharp eye for editing & always made sure we kept our reader in mind when we were making more experimental charts.

Some sad news: Axios has eliminated their #dataviz team, which means I have a few former colleagues who are going to be looking for work.

We accidentally Pavlov’d our dog to alerting us to when the Mister Softee truck comes through our neighborhood. She got a pup cup one time and it changed her brain chemistry forever. It’s incredible to watch in real time.
This is Edward. He was given 6 months to live after being found as a stray. His family was determined to give him the best few months possible, so they introduced him to the ice cream truck. That was 27 months ago. 14/10 #SeniorPupSaturday (IG: magnificent_foster_dogs)
