That, I think, is why some of the attacks on Swarbrick feel oddly objectless. The danger isn’t just what she might do as Finance Minister. It’s what she might reveal about the people who have spent 40 years telling us the money is all gone. andrewdicksonnz.substack.com/p/chloe-swar...

Catherine Law's (OIA concealer) PhD supervisor is Elizabeth Rata. Elizabeth Rata is Erica Stanfor'd's key education advisor

Rata and Stanford have a stated common goal:

To stop the success of decolonisation in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The OIA concealment from one of Rata's people is no surprise

You can't blame Ed Sheeran for caving in to American stadium owners I suppose. I mean, take these guys in the 60s, they refused to play to racially-segregated audiences in stadiums in the southern states of the USA and who remembers them now?

If you are concerned that Labour may support this legislation that restricts rights to seek, receive and impart information (see section 14 of the NZ Bill of Rights Act), then the person to contact is Reuben Davidson MP.

He is the party spokesman on this:

Really interesting to see the media uniformly present this as 'Government', when NZ First & ACT are very clear it's a National Party thing, not a Government thing.

It will be a National Party thing requiring Labour support to be passed.

A Labour Party serious about human rights will not support it

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.

I strongly agree with this view.
I think that in order to square this circle, we have to return to an understanding of academia that treats academics as working professionals in a specialized trade, and not elites in any meaningful sense of the word. Which means not fighting anti-science by trying to re-idolize scientists

This describes how I feel much of the time.
"Work hard, study, and when you grow up you can help change the world" turned out to leave a lot of us unprepared for a future of vindictive rich failsons bent on punishing people who worked hard and studied.

Reporting about British Medical Association critique of Cass Review was 'factually wrong'
