Seriously it is such an honor to get to be a part of this. This compilation series, in addition to being a favorite of mine since its inception, is an opportunity for people to do some collective good with their art. Being on the same compilation with some of my favorite bands is a trip!

Woof. Wish someone had mentioned that PIG was in town last night, they’re kinda one of my favorite bands.

And that’s where the Electribe excelled. As a sequencer it was too stuff for anything too melodic, but what I really needed was drums and maybe a bassline and little else, and it could deliver that quickly and intuitively.

Plus it could be really “garage electronique” sounding. But limited range…
Plus, I’m more of a studio musician guy. 90% of the instruments I use are VST (with hardware for added spice). And I’ve never considered myself a live musician.

Hardware for me is used more to fuck around and knock ideas loose. And for that, the 707 might be more power/options than I need.
And also, I’ve never been a huge fan of the way the ZenCore engine sounds. Something about it is just a bit flat and lifeless to me.

The real nail in the coffin is that every time I use it, I just think about how much I’d rather be using my old Korg Electribe MX…jank (a plenty) and all.

You know, I’ve had this MC-707 for a few years now, and I just don’t think it’s the right fit. It’s a really REALLY nice machine with a lot of possibilities…that are often locked behind Roland’s love of menu diving, and many of which are great for some, but not really what I use hardware for.

Started some work on a new song from something of a vs project this week. More guitar based rock with me adding synth and vox and some string arrangements. With any luck we’ll have an LP by the end of the year. Still haven’t officially named the project.

I was recently in the Bahamas and wanted to buy myself a touristy keepsake and then I saw “242” and knew I had found the perfect souvenir. No idea what “242” means to the Bahamas, but I guess it’s not the best place to hide if someone is trying to “catch the man”

Big oooof. Seeing everything presented succinctly and with numbers adds a biting sharpness to the gravity of the song.

welcome to the goth scene, we have:
-girl you like but are also afraid of
-super intimidating guy who turns out to be v chill
-the most intense person you've ever met and is it just a bit I hope it's a bit?
-trans friend for whom you would die and vice versa after you've known them barely 5 minutes
you shouldn’t learn about bands from shady TikTok manipulation, you should learn about bands by hanging out with a girl you like but are also extremely afraid of

So the last few months have been pretty terrible, so maybe let’s see what this year brings. But some Light Asylum on the dance floor is the remedy.

DAMN! clipping. last night was next level. This was the first song after the intro and the crowd never slowed down a bit (except for the middle when the amazing Counterfeit Madison joined and we were all mesmerized in a near religious experience that left our brains shot out the back of our heads)

So here is the new Bad Acid Cult album/offering/work/vibe that I got to work on for a track. Let its darkness bring light and its light bring awakenings.
The wait is over. At least on Bandcamp, that is! Special secret bonus track on that site for those who buy the album there! badacidcult.bandcamp.com/album/w1tchw...
