Holy cheese on crackers there are a million ways to expand your reading / watching / listening rather than reinscribing the actual material harm done to trans people by this woman's wealth.

THERE ARE SO MANY INCREDIBLE THINGS OUT THERE WORTHY OF YOUR PATRONAGE AND TIME.

WATCH THEM.
"JK Rowling is already a billionaire and everyone already knows about Harry Potter, what's the point of boycotting?"

Nobody thinks boycotting will bankrupt her. We know she's gonna die rich. We're just asking you to show a shred of solidarity with trans folk. Absolute low bar bare minimum shit.

It's Banned Books Week. My fellow librarians, listen carefully: your book displays should be almost exclusively writers who are alive. Yes, I know classic literature is also being banned, but most of those authors are dead. They aren't suffering financially from bans and challenges.

Republicans are trying to destroy American institutions,
the rule of law, civil and voting rights, multiracial democracy, and they’re trying to remove black and brown immigrants from the country. Going to lunch with them to try to understand them isn’t going to fix that.
The best cure for ideological bias is find someone on the other side and go to lunch with them.⁣

When my father was faculty at Cornell he was stopped by the police chief in the street & asked who he was & where he was going. When he balked at the fact that no one but him, an Arab man, was being asked, the chief said “I’m just protecting students”

Same guy failed to investigate 7 rapists.

Soon you could buy a gun online and have it shipped to your door without ever setting foot in a gun store—if a Trump administration proposal is finalized.

Donald Trump Jr. is a shareholder and board member of a company that says it’s “uniquely positioned” to capitalize on the opportunity.
