If you need a pickmeup, Ukraine struck and destroyed a Russian data center last night, reducing Russian bot traffic by 50%, dropping online pro-AfD discussion to zero, cratering MAGA traffic, and making Elon big mad. Just in time for the mid-terms.

Slava fucking Ukraini.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 8260:
Whatever genre you write, read folklore. Folklore exists because at some point, people cared so much about a certain thing that they put it into a story, and passed it down the centuries in order to keep it alive. That deserves attention.

If a publisher like MRM is trying to hold on to your copyright, that begs the question of what they're going to do with it. License it all as AI training data, I would have to imagine. 😠

My initial suspicion when the Must Read Magazines drama started was that they’re running the magazines as an IP rights grab in disguise. Nothing has happened to persuade me otherwise.

This ancient Greek figure from the 2,500 year-old Douris Cup looks uncannily like someone working on a laptop! 😲 💻

He’s actually writing with a stylus on a hinged wax writing tablet!

The technology has changed, the posture has not! 😂

If you're in these states, *TODAY* is deadline to register to vote.

Arizona, Arkansas Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas.

Even if you think you've registered: doesn't hurt to check!

For those of you with day jobs where you're forced to use LLMs or be fired, good tip I gleaned this weekend, which is to tell the LLM to stop referring to itself using "I" pronouns and to eliminate the praise and other attempts to humanize itself. You get a much cleaner interaction w/o the marketing
