Tonight!!!! Join us from 7 to 10pm for the opening of: The Patience of Light featuring Rick Lieder & Joseph Ferraro at The Gallery at Ideation Orange. Two of Metro Detroit’s best nature photographers present an exquisite blend of their work in our next exhibit: The Patience of Light. Opening Reception: Friday August 7th from 7 to 10pm. Rick Lieder is a photographer and painter whose work has been shown in art and zoological galleries in the Midwest and Canada, featured on PBS, and anchors an award-winning series of picture books. He lives and works in urban nature, surrounded by trees, bees, and birds." Joseph Ferraro is a conservation macro photographer walking the naturalist's path, based in Ferndale, Michigan. His yard, planted with native species, doubles as his field studio, and is where the journey began. Working by a "do no harm" credo, he photographs portraits of insects and pollinators as they are in their environment: native bees, ambush bugs, jumping spiders, and the countless other tiny creatures most people walk past without a second glance. Shortlisted for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 61 People's Choice Award, his work asks viewers to look more closely at the intricate world around them, one that doesn't require a plane ticket, just patience. Looking forward to having an exhibit of my wildlife work later this year at the Gallery at Ideation Orange, sharing space with Joseph Ferraro.
Stop by & see the current exhibit, “A very non linear pursuit,” a vibrant show by Detroit artist Paul “Fifty” Johnson. Here's a look at last week’s opening.
