This *is* super helpful, and also a source for a good laugh, reading about some candidates who have the audacity to run with zero community work or a platform, or are even *convicted fraudsters*.

We are not a serious city.

Gotta love local economies. We cleaned out our kitchen for repainting and placed 2 tables-worth of stuff by the curb for free and many people took what they wanted or needed. Stuff not going to landfill.

Whoooooaaa WHAT.
Sorry to hear it. We used to go with friends. Wonderful spot.

“Tonight, we say goodbye to 750 College St. – a place that became so much more than 4 walls. It became a home, a stage, a refuge, a family, & a place where so many of us were able to laugh, dance, love, celebrate, & simply be ourselves.”

LONG LIVE GODZILLA
I showed Godzilla Minus One to my family—and it was a huge hit. It took me months to convince them because of the US Godzilla movies. 😅

It’s truly one of my fav genre films of the decade. The way it blends kaiju, a heartfelt human story, and powerful themes—all on a shoestring budget—is fantastic.

On the *same day* the Cornell Seven drugged and raped Jane Doe, Cornell banned four students (including the President of Cornell JVP) from campus for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. The same Cornell officials let the rapists off with apology essays.

All of this.

My favourite so far is how to repair my mechanical sewing machine. Opened that whole thing up, pieces everywhere, fixed the issue. All by watching a video.

Sewing vids are amazing.
I love every single person who has ever put up a "how to fix this thing you own" video on youtube. You have saved us with car repairs, saved us from buying a new phone and now from buying a new tv. Generousity and kindness can be found, galore.

Finally saw Nolan's The Odyssey and it was… fine?

I was hoping to come out of it like I did when I first saw Scott's Gladiator, but… meh.

(I also didn't get a chance to see it in full IMAX, so maybe that's where all the fanfare is due)

Asexuality challenges a culture that often conflates perceived desirability with sexual availability. Our identities invite reconsideration about what we're told is inherent to intimacy and attraction. Perception alone can never tell you what kind of connection someone might seek

today in Why Are Men: a neighbour's contractor likes to yell his phone convos in the driveway and had to include a tidbit about a client's young adult daughter who is apparently so attractive, she shouldn't be allowed out in public, and it's just so 'unfair'.

Over the past 2 nights, I've walked and cycled back from RBC Amphitheatre up Strachan. The absolute ridiculous design of super wide roads w very fast moving cars, a scary bike lane, & the skinniest of sidewalks, the latter packed w concert goers walking into what's now a bustling Liberty Village.
Within transportation, we’ve seen this same circular argument repeatedly. We don’t need bike lanes because there aren’t enough cyclists. We don’t need better transit because ridership is low. We don’t need pedestrian infrastructure because few people walk.

Is there an urban guerilla effort somewhere in the world that pops into empty public spaces under cover of night and fills them chairs?

I'd donate to that effort.
