1/ I'm now at a point where I'm super proud of the work we've done at RCPCH in our fully open #DCB0129 #ClinicalSafety and #MDR documentation over the past 7 years.

Since the very start we have always had completely OPEN Clinical Safety Management File / Hazard Log.

Today is #Gibraltar National Day!

Putting aside the many layers of politics around that contested piece of land, I'm lucky enough to have #GibraltarianStatus through my father, and so here in York we are celebrating with #Rosto and #Calentita, two culinary delights which are Pure Gib.

FUN FACT: The reason we sell petrol by the litre but measure performance by mpg is because in the 1970s oil shock, British pumps had exactly the same issue and it was easier to put stickers over the word "gallon" rather than retrofitting all the dials.
MAXXED OUT at $9.999!! GasBuddy data showing 5 stations in California that have hit the limit and are selling diesel at the dispensers highest possible price: $9.999/gal

We need to start regarding our laws themselves as 'Critical National Infrastructure' and understand and defend against the ways that bad actors can gain access to the lawmaking apparatus and make pernicious changes.

Lobbying is one way this happens, basically it's paying to change the law.

This got me thinking that what is currently happening in the USA can be understood as:

1. Get access to user `POTUS` account (by fair means or foul)
2. Escalate privileges to `root` (turns out minimal protection)
3. Move laterally into other areas of law
4. Disable firewalls and install APT agents
Law is a kind of 'computer program' for the functions of a state.

Reading @doctorow.pluralistic.net's account of how Mitch Glazier "snuck a clause into must-pass legislation", it struck me that in tech terms this would be a 'Supply Chain Attack' on the law.

You have to choose. You can't be nice to everyone. Appeasing corporations and billionaires means abandoning everyone else. When it comes to policy, it's us or them. And for far too long political leaders in this country have sided with them. If Burnham is to survive, this is what he needs to change.
