33 years ago my English listening poficiency was completely absent so I solved the fireplace puzzle by bruteforcing all the codes in because I didn't understand at all what the brothers were saying

Been thinking about how “you can do it if you just want it enough” is such a privileged take. It’s especially damaging to neurodivergent people.

Some day Destiny and Destiny 2 will cease to exist in their entirety, which is baffling. Games and spaces I have loved and spent thousands of hours in, and they will only exist as unplayable files on a hard drive with memories.

I really wish there was some accessibility cabal/mafia/whatever, at least my husband (motor disabilities) and me (neurodivergence) could be sure to be able to navigate this world without screaming internally every single waking minute.

It always throws me that people think it's fine to play as a dwarf or green-skinned elf or mechanical automaton or whatever and it doesn't mean a thing, but if you play a different gender then you're secretly trans, and if you play a different real-life skin colour you're racist. It's just pretend.
I had a sudden realization that people who think it's problematic to play as villains or that if you play as another gender you're an egg are just people who solely use role-playing as wish fulfillment and not a as tool to explore other perspectives or create tension and conflict in narratives.

I was called "plotter woman" because I was able to draw quite fast, which kind of miffed me a bit, but this one goes beyond offensive.

In an absolute selfish way, I'd prefer slightly before, like 2008, when I still had a stable job, wasn't clinically depressed, and Husband's chronic illnesses still didn't take half of his motor functions away.
(I had crippling anxiety, 'tho, but that's the background radiation of my whole life.)

Even if you don't care about trans rights (insert the shame bell here), maybe take the time to understand that, if you're part of any sort of minority group, or disabled, or a woman, or anyone they don't like, *they will do this to you next*. You'll never be "one of the good ones" enough to be safe.
