WELKER: Do you think democratic socialists have a place in the Democratic Party?

VAN HOLLEN: Yes they do as part of the debate. I think that those in the Dem Party who are afraid of a healthy debate are missing the point, because Democratic voters do not want a return to the pre-Trump status quo

A good way to think about the relevance of James Carville is if someone who worked on Grover Cleveland’s successful 1892 campaign spent all their time critiquing FDR’s 1932 campaign as not being the real Democratic Party that Cleveland represented.

I once asked a priest to bless a printer that I was in the middle of fighting with and he went "I only bless things when there's a chance it'll take" and then turned and walked out of the room.
I am tech support to the bone and do not like to mystify computer stuff but I genuinely believe in my heart of hearts that printers have demons in them.

There is literally no other explanation.

Schulz's response is relevant even today:

It makes me angry that no one can say “no” to Trump. A shitty Fourth in the nation’s capital is such a small thing in the scheme of things. But that’s the point. You should be able to say “no” and move on.

By far the best thing about the Great American State Fair is that DC statehood activists have infiltrated it (with official permission!) and are lobbying attendees to support their cause. I saw several MAGA tourists receiving the polite but vigorous spiel for DC statehood and it warmed my heart.
