The PSF Board is proud to share the final version of the PSF’s five-year strategic plan. Thanks to all who improved the plan by participating in the process, and we look forward to all we’ll accomplish together in the next five years. Read more on our blog:
Announcing the PSF Strategic Plan 2026
In May, the Python Software Foundation (PSF) shared the high-level goals of our Strategic Plan. In June, we published the full draft and opened it for community feedback. Today we are sharing the outcome: at its July 8 meeting, the PSF Board adopted the PSF Strategic Plan 2026, covering 2026 to 2031.

This episode of Fresh Air is so so good. Loved hearing about Tim Curry's inspiration for Dr. Frank-N-Furter, and it's not who you think it may be.

Fresh Air remembers Tim Curry, star of 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'
Best known for playing the cross-dressing scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the '75 cult classic, Curry also appeared in numerous other TV shows and films. He died Aug. 25. Originally broadcast in 2005.

Ossoff: "Here's what's going to happen tonight: the world's most famous sore loser will deliver a prime-time presidential sour grapes address to pursue his 6-year-old grievances about the 2020 election, while his war in the Middle East spirals out of control & the cost of living continues to rise.."

Stopped at #Doomies to pick up dinner and spotted this awesome sign next to the register:
A sign with a photo of different varieties of Jarritos drinks on a teal background. The wording on the sign reads: “We have cold Jarritos! NO ICE required!” The words “NO ICE” are large and emphasized so that the remaining words are barely visible.

While the world’s eyes are on fashion’s biggest night, we’re turning ours to the garment, retail, and warehouse workers who keep the industry running.

From true love found on the picket line to a free tailoring school out of a Brooklyn basement — meet the New Yorkers who make it all possible.

Dan Rather’s take on last week’s Supreme Court ruling, in case you needed anything else to put it into perspective. :/ (He really does have a way of telling an impactful story.)

Now that I've finally got our Mardi Gras gallery sorted for Cryptique, I wanna post one last batch of photos of my Fortunato (zombificato!) costume, from our Cryptique photographer and a few other nice folks.
Close up of the mask of my Fortunato costume; it's big paper mache mask of a green zombie face with one eyeball dangling out of its socket, with gritted teeth and a tiny mustache. The mask has a pointy jester cap that's half pink and half orange. It's framed by the big blue paper mache wall prop that I'm wearing; more on that in the other pics. Side view of me walking while wearing my Fortunato costume. I'm carrying a big blue paper mache brick wall prop in front of me. I'm wearing a suit that's half pink and half orange, with little suns and moons on it. Me standing in the middle of the street wearing my Fortunato costume. I'm standing with legs apart and my head tilted. The big blue paper mache brick wall prop in front of me is hiding most of my boy. I've got two fake zombie hands sticking out from the wall; one is a holding a fake bottle of amontillado, and the other is gripping the wall near my head. My real hands are hidden behind the wall, holding it up. Close up of some parts of my Fortunato costume after I've taken them off. The big brick wall prop is leaning against a real wall. I've set my mask into the big hole at the top of the wall. Below my head, there's a smaller hole in the wall, with a fake arm and hand sticking out of it, holding a fake bottle. The other fake hand is next to the mask, gripping the edge of the wall.
