it is a genuine crisis that there is a high probability a CNN reporter ignored whatever McConnell slurred and accepted copy directly from his office, like this is Pravda shit
CNN would have us believe McConnell said this words lmao. they refused to allow video to be taken.

The Senate is actually a form of ancestor worship. We wheel around the embalmed corpses of our honored ancestors and engage in a (binding) pantomime of legislation and governance to pay our respects to them and seek their blessings on our endeavors.

Triumphantly returning from Medbed Hypersleep to cast a vote on the Rural Hospital Abolition Act. That's beautiful.
Mitch McConnell in a social media post said that he will return to the Senate floor and cast his first vote since his hospitalization in June.

one of the most interesting questions hanging over this entire situation is: how do the massive valuations for frontier labs, and the capital markets' broader fixation on AI as a driver of investment and growth, interface with the idea of slowing down AI development due to (allegedly) massive risks?

I'm serious when I say I've lost track of all the recent revelations of literal Nazis working in high-level positions in Republican congressional campaigns and I would very much appreciate a journalist who took the time to detail as many of them as can fit into an article.
Ossoff: "Then there's the ex-staffer posting swastikas and Klan regalia. And the neo-Nazi with a million followers who produces neo-Nazi propaganda at Collins's house ... a man who won't take responsibility for what happens under his own roof can't be trusted with our national affairs."

This story is now remarkably familiar across big tech; everyone’s burned out, no job security and there’s AI slop code & documents everywhere.

This doesn’t seem sustainable and many companies are coasting on the bad job market to create inhospitable working conditions.

Eventually things will break

Jared Kushner is not "on the other side of the aisle."

He's not an elected official. He's not an administration official. He's the president's son-in-law and a private citizen.

You do not, in fact, have to take meetings with relatives of the president. Some might even say you should *not* do that
Jeffries defends his meeting with Kushner: "I'm of the view that if we're going to be committed to actually solving problems on behalf of the American people ... they're are gonna be times that you have to speak with people on the other side of the aisle. Even people you strongly disagree with."
