🧵CO₂ removal (CDR) is back in the news, but just because the UNEP report says we need CDR, it doesn't mean we'll have CDR. Many challenges will take decades of research and negotiation to solve. Here are some examples:

I get we are living through massive geopolitical changes, but dismissing Nature and the ecosystem services it provides to sustain society -and the economy- seems just foolish 😔

A rational evaluation of the risks would immediately trigger a slow down & setup of strong regulatory frameworks for AI development. Like climate change, the lack of decisive action indicates that greed & a FOMO race for power drive decisions. Maybe is just stupidity.
