Had an interesting conversation with my coworkers about the initial article so I’m interested in this follow-up.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones wrote a now-viral essay about her decision to send her daughter to high-poverty, predominantly Black public schools in her New York city neighborhood — and how they both feel about that choice 10 years later. https://to.pbs.org/4hyDY4f

this is indeed a criminal investigation, in the sense that everyone involved in pursuing it is a criminal

That’s a real deflating loss. Falcons had the game in their hands. Several defensive players stepped up. London and Bijan were awesome. Coaching was good. The defense just got beaten into submission and Penix folded in too many critical situations

🙁
1000%

And I really want the Falcons to actually put on a show at home and not just on the road

Idk how I missed that the Falcons are inducting John Abraham into the Falcons Ring of Honor tonight.

They better not embarrass us.

If I built an AI lab and it went rogue and deleted all student loan information, I'm betting they'd suddenly figure out how to prosecute me.

The Atlanta Dream are going to the #WNBA Finals after sweeping the New York Liberty. Naz Hillmon didn't score in two of the three semifinal games, yet she is a huge reason why the Dream advanced.

Our @michaelwaterloo.bsky.social explains Hillmon's impact beyond the stat sheet.

And nobody "Stopped wearing Nikes," that's just literal delusion. They just stopped buying them at inflated prices from looters like you because they no longer had to.

Something underdiscussed on Katrina was the city had a bad storm bear down the year before only to turn east at the last minute. That adds to a false sense of security.
I’ve had some people ask “why won’t they cancel the game” and I’m not even going to entertain the football psychosis of it all and just say:

The problem with hurricanes is that you can be kinda casual about them, until an unspecified and unpredictable point where you absolutely can’t

You HAVE to understand that the people you need to get to break for KLB are not going to be in favor of running around saying “tax the wealthy” because they either a) ARE wealthy (drive around there Northern ATL burbs for a lil bit), or b) believe in capitalism

You not breaking that in one cycle

He’s missing out because babies be legitimately hilarious while they’re learning how to be humans.

It’s wild when they go from not knowing how to do something to just doing it.

“Being poor sucks, so I hope you’re not poor”

To be fair to Rick Jackson, that’s pretty much the Republican platform at this point.
Voter: The federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour yields a salary of approximately $15,080. What steps will you take to ensure Georgians earn a wage that allows them to afford basic essentials?

Georgia Republican Gov. candidate Rick Jackson: Hopefully you're not the one that is getting the $7.50/hour

Also, hate to tell people who think there is another way, IT IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER. Look at all the leftier candidates who won b/c you voted harder in the primaries! You want nice things? Join your local Democratic club and persuade the long-timers to support you!
"what are you gonna do, vote harder?" I mean yeah there's not a lot of other levers to pull these days

but we can still pull that one

People don’t want to take it seriously but they’re literally working backwards from whatever will support white supremacy and it keeps working because a lot of people are quite sure they can make white supremacy work in their favor.
It's absolutely bonkers to me that this image led directly to this tweet.

very funny to watch the falcons fanbase realize someone who won two coach of the year awards might not be terrible at this

JENNINGS: Let's say Democrats take the House. How sure are you that they would immediately move to impeach President Trump?

MIKE JOHNSON: It's guaranteed. Probably on the first day.
