The fact that Chris Morris and Patrick Marber were able to do a genuinely great sketch about 9/11, hidden as an Easter Egg on the The Day Today DVD is a remarkable thing. If you've never heard it, it's astonishing.

also Wikipedia didn't just happen and people adapted. it was sloppy in the 2001-2002 period and then a group of editors (including people who had been there right from day one also including myself) worked out principles for making the project work with a lot of hard graft over the next few years.
This is so funny. When I was at uni, lecturers never said Wikipedia was "slop", they simply cautioned students to check its citations. Which you can't do with LLMs because they just make things up and are *designed* to stop you thinking critically about what you're reading
You know things are going well when you’ve entered Day Three of Posting Through It.

The BBC calls them 'protesters' but doesn't say what they are protesting about.

Because protestors have banners, placards, t-shirts with slogans. These people are not protestors. They are militia.

Short story I read as a schoolchild in the 80s or 90s. someone who can rewind time for a second go at things, but at the cost of cannibalising future time - ie they get to do an exam again knowing the questions but then they skip the equivalent amount of time at their birthday party. What is it?

this is so funny. it's Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council's proposals for unitaries for Staffordshire - four of them, with the only district being unchanged being Newcastle under Lyme. they might as well have proposed they be given birthday cake every day and patted on the head.
