The obsession of the scammer overclass with masculinity/race/antifeminism are all one and the same.

The cognitive dissonance their (average at best) human worth and their (humongous) financial net worth consumes their brain. Too dense or hypocritical to realize they just gamed the system... [1/2]

I understand and share deeply the disappointment and rage towards idiotic non-voters who show up at the ballot just to give power to clowns and nazi, but disenfranchisement is how we got here in the first place.

Make voting compulsory instead! And make systems proportional and ranked choice.

Hello I'm a professional developer in 2026 and I really believe that code is the moat of FAANG.

This is why Facebook (10000+ engineers) had to buy Instagram and WhatsApp and could not build them in house, because WhatsApp (1 dev) and Instagram (coded in 8 weeks by 3 randos) had the code.
It enables people to create software so easily that we will be able to move away from the tech monopolies that dominate our lives

This right here is the sum total, the alpha and the omega of the woke/trans/metoo elite panics, which are the same thing actually, boiled down to its solid residue, to wit:

How dare the little people judge us, the big shots.

What’s amazing about the Telegraph crew is how thin their pretence of believing in ‘free speech’ really is.

lmao at Europe climate crusaders pushing out bullishit numbers on heat deaths then getting cross pressured by Americans calling them murderers for not wanting AC.

Acccording to "studies" that get trotted out Europe has heat related death at 5x the rate of Africa, what the fuck are we doing here.

The thing is the US has been running on govt deficits for ten years now.

Other countries might be still constrained but in US the "bond vigilantes" have been 6ft underground.

Massive govt deficits means someone is getting massive subsidies. And in the US its corpos.
My not-so-hot take is that what Mamdani is doing *IS* incrementalism, and the bar is so deeply in hell that a politician just doing *anything* good consistently is a total anomaly for people.

And I think for now that is good and fine, because it is restoring people’s faith that better is possible.

PSA: portable air conditioners are basically a scam.

Source: I have owned several and I also happen know some things about heat and mass transfer. Unfortunately the compressor and heat exchanger being fully inside change dramatically how these end up working compared to window or external units.

This is gonna earn me a couple of unfollows and blocks most probably but I live in Toulouse and people are being a bit ridiculous about the heatwave.

Yes the headline temp is hot but the wet bulb temperature is perfectly manageable. Dont take my word for it.

To understand the real reason Starmer failed look no further than Mamdani.

Even if Mamdani himself is failing on delivering some policies (e.g. police), left-of-center votes are completely fed up with stand-for-nothing bank clerk types who kowtow alternatively to big business and gutter racists.

You're not ready for this conversation on this website but the whole Musk fiasco (psychologically&financially) is just the Californian Tech Dad id manifesting in full.

There's not one but several cottage industries dedicated to scamming these guys just like Musk does.

Difference is only scale.

The whole "marketplace of idea" meme is just a bunch of room temp IQ lottery winners shouting "if you're so smart why aren't your rich?" through megaphones at the rest of the world.

Case and point, the room temp IQ dude who went and bought the whole "marketplace".

I think the "vibecession" situation is actually that people have empathy for those of us who are getting the downward slope of the K-shape. or they think "is that going to be me next?"

bsky.app/profile/goli...
there's another part of this, which is that a lot of job categories are starting to get eliminated, and "retraining" to try to work in a new field almost never works at scale, so if your job is of the type that's getting vaporized, it can be very difficult to pivot
my grand theory of vibecession is that multiple contradictory things can be true at once, and that this kind of complexity is more or less impossible to constructively discuss on a social media platform with character limits and severe context collapse problems.

IIF (and it's a big IIF) Orban loses in a landslide here it destroys the "people bad" theory and what we're left with, however unlikely, is, "a B-movie tier conspiracy of media moguls, elites and intelligence services managed to lie to everybody for quite some time".

I ~agree on complexity but ~60% of the whole ass thing is just this super trivial chart.

You simply cannot convince people that economy is "fine" and "hot" when they cannot afford houses they could ~5 years ago. See alt text.

Trump understands this thats why he wants to fiddle with the Fed.
