The "zionism is racism" motion that has just passed on the Green Party's conference floor is truly gross, and deeply racist.

The party's MPs deserve some credit for opposing it, though they should've done so more stridently and sooner.

This is now a millstone around the party's necks. Deservedly.

And the moral of this story is that party policymaking by the membership will wreck your party, especially if there are no barriers to entryism.
Here are the results of the Green Party's prioritisation ballot, sorting which motions stand the best chance of being debated at conference this weekend

A3: "Zionism is Racism" came out top but plenty of other interesting motions in there too

Oh no 7 of my great grandparents are English, does that mean I’ll have to stay behind with the other fraction of the population that’s true for as services and infrastructure crumble due to depopulation?
By Suella Braverman's definition of Englishness as being "a lineage, an ancestry, a connection to the heritage of this country which dates back a few generations," I'm no longer English.

So where shall I go and live when Reform comes knocking?

The Greens have already disgraced themselves by letting this motion get this far. If it passes it’s the end of them as a serious party.

Which is a shame for, you know, green issues.
From Politico. That motion is absolute fucking poison and by failing to stand up to it, the Greens have allowed that poison to seep into the party.

I actually hope this is fake.

It’s a shame there isn’t a real @royal-mail.bsky.social on here as I want to ask someone why the 24-hour tracked service I paid for apparently hasn’t moved or been tracked for 80 hours.

Starting to think I may have under-egged this when I wrote about ChatGPT in 2023.

I suppose at least I wasn’t completely credulous.

It seems to me that while I’ve left all the dickhead drivers over on Twitter, all the dickhead cyclists are here.

Obviously I think this is very funny. But I’m also really sad that he’s been able to do so much harm to this country before getting caught.

The labour party does really, thoroughly enjoy smacking around the people who vote for it, while chasing the votes of people who don't (some of whom mostly exist in the imaginations of politicians).

I am going see Coyote vs Acme this afternoon and this website has got me *hyped*. There will be stern words if I’m disappointed. Stern words indeed. You know who you are.

@lingthusiasm.com loved your irregulars episode, especially the bit on child learning patterns. I once noticed my daughter say that she ‘satted down’ and it utterly delighted me to realise she’d learned the irregular past ‘sat’ but then added the regular ending -ed just to be sure.
