This man would fail an A&O test and everyone knows it. He’d be considered unfit to make serious decisions for *himself,* let alone the rest of the country.

You do not need to explain, to Queer or Black or Disabled people in America, that you can't always have a perfect thing. That is not news to us. You are not providing new information.

It is the height of arrogance to assume that's not already part of our understanding of the world.

Mitch McConnell hasn’t been seen or heard from in 25 days in the hospital.

Yet he still has a job, still getting paid, and getting unlimited world class healthcare.

The man who voted against a living wage, against universal healthcare, and against guaranteed paid leave, is now getting all three.

It’s almost like he’s been a really terrible person this whole time.
Axios is reporting that Platner has said he won't file paperwork to withdraw before Monday, which is the final day he can do so (and four days from now). www.axios.com/2026/07/09/g...
Scoop: Platner privately told staff he'll formally exit Senate race Monday
Platner's last-minute timing is likely to cause a final pang of anxiety within the party.

*Suspending campaign operations is not the same as withdrawing from the race, which is required by Monday under Maine law for the party to name a replacement.
PLATNER SAYS HE’S DROPPING OUT of the Maine Senate race: “We believe that for the movement to continue, it can’t be me. And for that reason, we are suspending campaign operations,” he says in a video message tonight.

On August 4th we’re gonna get an announcement that McConnell is dead, but OOPS it’s one day too late for KY to hold a special election. It’s exactly the kind of illegal, behind-closed-doors political BS that McConnell used to do all the time, so I guess they’re just honoring his legacy?

Platner is a product of white people who are desperate for addressing classism but refuse to acknowledge that misogyny, transphobia, homophobia and racism are components of classism that need to be exorcised for the socialism they want. They want reprieve with no deconstruction of their bigotry.

I cant believe “Weekend at Bernie’s” is real life now and I don’t even know why I can’t believe it because it really is exactly something this stupid country would do just to maintain its own power imbalance.

What a profoundly stupid country we live in.
In an apparently coordinated effort to show Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is alive and on the mend, a handful of his allies made public statements today saying they have spoken to him on the phone this week and discussed a variety of issues. www.huffpost.com/entry/latest...

A stronger "HR lady" element in Dem politics would've nuked Platner sooner but instead a bunch of credulous & insecure dolts with podcasts & substacks just had to let their masculinity issues give Dems a candidate who imploded less than a month after winning the primary.
I dunno, man. I usually agree with the HR lady, politically.
