Despite the hordes of school children, I managed to do two quick sketches at the #zoo.
I think the gorilla noticed that I did something that other visitors don't. He looked at me with attention.

Quick and loose ink sketch of a gorilla in a relaxed lying position, playing with his foot. Quick and loose ink + wash sketch of two blue+yellow ara birds sitting on a branch

Preparing a visit to the #zoo with some preliminary sketches. I have very little experience with drawing live animals, but I know they won't be as still as my photo reference 😄

I took part in my very first running event, and the finisher medal makes me more proud than I can say. I was so slow, I looked ridiculous, hobbling along with a red head and panting - but it was nothing but a triumph. Bliss!

Photo of the femRun finisher medal: silverish metal with enamel 4 leaf clovers in pink and orange on it. The engraved date is 11.09.2026. added to the photo is my smartwatch data: 6,34 km, 01:07:03 running time

Now that I can go for an hour straight, it'll be time to work on my pacing soon. Not sure though, how.

Friends, I can't tell you how happy and proud I am. It took me almost a year to go from couch to 5k, but I finally made it.
And I'll keep #running.

I had some #gansaitambi style #watercolors of different brands lying around all over the place. Now I finally found a tin in the right size and made a label with the help of #AI. I hope it's not a four letter word 😆

#japanese #fakejapanese
Shallow metal tin with a black paper label on which is (supposedly) written in white japanese letters [enogu-zara] which, according to chatGPT, means something like "artists' color pan" The same tin, opened: large flat color pans of several blackish and metallic shades. A color chart stuck in the top of the lid.

This is the closest I've come to 5k as yet. I feel absolutely triumphant, judging from the fact I've been almost bedridden due to my dysthemia a year ago.

on this day in 1799 the "Rosetta Stone is found in the Egyptian village of Rosetta by French Captain Pierre-François Bouchard during Napoleon's Egyptian Campaign." This Stone was a key to translation of Egyptian hieroglyphs, "unlocking 3,000 years of lost history and culture."

One good thing about people cancelling plans is that it gives you some time and energy to spare.
A little walk and a #sketch: the infamous #Ihmezentrum of #Hannover.
Color is #whitenights #metamorphosis

My hand holding my sketchbook: on a double page (A5portrait) with a quick sketch, black lines and blue wash of a bridge infront of an urban landscape with some high buildings, trees and lawns in front. Behind the sketch, you see the subject: part of the Ihmezentrum building complex in Hannover The same sketch, closer.

Drawing in overcrowded places like the #piazzadellasignoria can be a challenge. But then again, maybe you have a lovely human interaction with someone emptying the trash cans. Or at least, I did.

Naturally, some of the street art in Florence is political. Not everyone likes it.
#streetart #urbanart #florence #firenze #streetartitaly #streetartitalia #arteitaliana
Large paper patch of two portraits: apparently Vladimir Putin who says "I love you Joe!" and Joe Biden who says "I love you, Vlad!". In between, a heart in which is written "24 23 years of love". Both faces and the worde are covered by red X's which obviously have been added later with a pen

#Cinqueterre used to be a dream destination of mine, but it turned out to be more of a nightmare. The #overtourism made this so stressful. I can't recommend the place to anyone, despite its undeniable beauty. pls compare photo in comments!

Due to strong winds, my drawing of Florence's historic center stayed a bit unfinished. But I kinda like the negative space look.

A small shack like building below an azure sky, surrounded by fresh greenery - trees and grass. On the bright blue shack wall are painted large stylized fish, or rather: fish parts. Cut up in halves, the fish are painted in bright white with bold black outlines.
