I am very happy (and a bit scared) to present to you what we have been working on over the last 4 years. This manuscript is exactly what I dreamt of when I started the lab and I could not be happier and prouder of the outcome!

A Greek singer, Pavlos Sidiropoulos, once sang, “If the child is saved, there is hope.” Sadly, today, children and their future seem to be a priority for no government, and with this, hope is slowly fading.

Not sure how the community will be consulted, but if so this will be really critical and time to be vocal...delegating our peer judgement (admittedly imperfect) to LLM feels like removing the cornerstone of how science works. If this is the way it goes, I'd rather become a teacher or bake bread🤷‍♂️
As the discussion turns to potential actions, research communities must be consulted and engaged. As a first step, we will explore a joint community survey.

Not every cell react the same way to caspase activation. In our recent study (led by @tomcumming.bsky.social and initiated by @avillars.bsky.social ), we tried to better understand what explains this difference and outlined a role of past caspase exposure 👇

When I’m getting too stressed about the possibility of AI going rogue and causing human extinction, I’m reading these articles and thinking « screw you AI, we can go extinct by ourselves »

Mr. Kennedy spoke next, linking arms with the group even as measles cases continue to rise”

In the meantime, scientists are outsourcing writing, reading, reviewing, thinking to AI uncritically 😭
NYC and LA just restricted AI in classrooms, and in both cities the parents and teachers who pushed for it are celebrating. Tech Policy Press fellow Chris Mills Rodrigo reports on the grassroots movement resisting the rush to adopt AI in schools.
