Always love it when someone schedules a 7 am meeting on a Friday morning, so you get up early and get to work only to find the meeting cancelled just before it’s supposed to start

For real!! Comedian Micky Overman says it like it is. Generally the only people even entertaining the thought of evil AGI are men. Women are too busy fixing the ACTUAL problems of AI, like idk, the way it automates, reproduces and exacerbates misogyny and makes all our lives worse...

This whoooole thread feels like it was yanked from my own brain. I remain angry about it, angry about the chance for international solidarity we squandered over and over again, angry about the way we threw our own moral good name away for nothing.

And we keep doing it.

Barbara Lee was right.
Here's what I think about when I think back on 9/11.

The attack happened on the watch of a Republican president who had been warned, repeatedly & explicitly, that an attack was coming. He dismissed those warnings.

Sam, love, if you couldn't run a sandbox test without appropriate oversight, I don't think your cyber services are going to be up to the job of securing the grid. Sit down and let the grownups sort it out.
EXCLUSIVE: Sam Altman met with top power utilities to discuss ways to secure the electrical grid.

He also offered one possible solution to the cybersecurity risks: OpenAI’s own cyber services.

The Milo stuff is the perfect picture of fascism. You think you're protected because you go as big as you can on racism, you spend years harassing the movement's perceived enemies, you even disavow your own sexuality. They'll still throw you in a cage over the tiniest disagreement already forgotten.
