Last week I had an appt about starting biologics for my autoimmune disease. I had a lot of vials of blood taken. I noticed one was urgent and had to be in the lab within an hour of being taken. I asked how often they missed that window and they said rarely. Guess who is redoing bloods tomorrow. 🫠

I have concerns about this as a woman and parent to a teen; however saying you can *never* consent is problematic. Bdsm and enthusiastic consent do exist.

Tony Lenehan KC also believes a new misogyny bill will help educate men that sex acts, such as strangulation, are illegal.

If you feel like donating to the RNLI, here’s a link. I just have. Their minimum donation is £2: I think it might be nice for them to receive a lot of donations this week, even if they’re mostly very modest. Just so they know a lot of people out here appreciate their work. rnli.org/support-us/g...

If you're in government watching criminal-led blackshirt thugs in balaclavas wage war on the RNLI and you're hedging your bets because you're not sure who the majority of the country will side with, why do you even want to be in government?

Why would you WANT to lead people you think so little of?

Well clearly the storms were something last night as me and the kid woke up to a pond in the living room. As much as I love my spouse, these are the times I realise he is not a good person in emergency situations. He has stood holding a mop with a blank stare as her and ran around sorting stuff.

The kid's room is a mess, it desperately needs cleaned; however I had also just made coffee in the french press so clearly that comes first. Which she drank black with no milk or sugar. Other than her accent she definitely is more Norwegian than American. ☕️

My partner and teenage kid went back to Norway for some family events last week. Our kid was the only grandchild for 14 years till recently. Multiple times, my partner and kid got to hear how it was so great to finally have 3 generations all together and how amazing being grandparents is.

Oh yeah we have new babies. My kid and partner went to the pet store when the eclipse viewing wasn't the greatest. So now we have Eclipse (black rex), Sol (cream), Io (black smooth coat) and Jupiter (agouti).

The BBC just had a story about DSM and the ISA. The LOS and UNCLOS is one of my areas of special interest; I wrote my LLB dissertation on the BBNJ and SIDS. Ask me all your pressing questions! Yes I used as many abbreviations as possible to make you need to ask questions. ;)

Dear men,

If you ask me how I am in the street, and I smile at you, that does not entitle you to follow me at a distance for several streets to my bus stop, and then sit down next to me to try and hit on me.

That just makes me scared and uncomfortable.

Many thanks.

The running joke in my house is that I am basically a large rat. The fact that one of my rats has now been prescribed the same antibiotic I've been on for a year to treat my recurrent infections after cancer treatment is not going to help my case. 🐭🐀

Unfortunately the TV was on while eating my peashoots & cottage cheese and I was treated to rants about fat people (Storm & Alexis 🤮). Not all obese people are stuffing themselves w/ ultra processed food. Some of of us have health issues that affect our weight. Trust me, we want to be healthy too.

Woke up at 0500 and decided to stay up, as with the kid home for the summer and a partner working from home 50%, those rare quiet hours are precious and fleeting. I don't regret anything in my life, but I do miss living alone occasionally.

They're introducing the equivalent of magistrates for asylum appeals.

If you have ever had the misfortune to witness the magistrates court in action, you'll know exactly what that means.

Easily one of the most dreadful policies I have ever seen.
